Rheinard began his hobby via his father Uwe Rheinard, a hobby shop owner and later notable as the Euro Series co-founder. His brother Toni was German 1:10 electric touring car champion in 2005[1]

He made his racing debut in the 1995 Tamiya Euro Cup, taking part in the M chassis class. Following successes in the 1999 Tamiya Euro Cup, won by his brother Toni, they were invited to Japan to compete in the Tamiya World Championships in Shizuoka where he finished second.[3]
