From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The 1993 IFMAR 1:10 Electric Off-Road World Championship was the 5th running of the biennial IFMAR 1:10 Electric Off-Road World Championship for 1:10 radio-controlled off-road buggies sanctioned by the International Federation of Model Auto Racing (IFMAR) to be run over two separate classes over [total] days on [start] through [end] [month] with each class running for [total] days each in total.

Masami Hirosaka and Cliff Lett was the defending champion in the 2WD and 4WD class respectively; Brian Kinwald won the 2WD class and Hirosaka took the 4WD class title.

The event was marred by the disqualification of Briton Ben Sturnham of Schumacher, who later became notable as a rugby union player,[1] when he was discovered racing with a motor that consisted of parts from other manufacturers, illegal under IFMAR regulation despite legal under national guidelines. As a result, he was stripped of his race times and relegated to last in his group (10th).
