During the period of Đà Nẵng under French rule (Vietnamese: Đà Nẵng thuộc Pháp; Chữ Nôm: 沱㶞屬法) the city was officially known as Tourane.

History

The October 1888 imperial decrees by the Đồng Khánh Emperor ceding the cities of Hà Nội, Hải Phòng, and Đà Nẵng from the Nguyễn dynasty (大南國, Đại Nam quốc) to France (大法國, Đại Pháp quốc) as concession cities, in Classical Chinese (top) and French (bottom).
