User:Donald Trung/Comments about online sources regarding non-Chinese Asian numismatic charms

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Currently finding online sources about non-Chinese Asian numismatic charms has proven to be quite a hassle, I've only been able to find two articles (respectively) about Japanese numismatic charms and Korean numismatic charms on Gary Ashkenazy's Primaltrek / Primal Trek and only a handful of scattered information on Vladimir Belyaev's Chinese Coinage Website (Charm.ru). Information about Vietnamese numismatic charms is in fact impossible to find, I can only find American war era fantasy Vietnamese cash coins with fantasy inscriptions. In fact I was not planning on launching the "Japanese numismatic charm" and "Korean numismatic charm" but as these are intertwined (and often confused with) Chinese numismatic charms, amulets, and talismans I decided to start working on them the moment I've finished all my PrimalImports and expansions to the "Chinese numismatic charms" article. --Donald Trung (talk) 18:10, 17 June 2018 (UTC)

As I can barely find any sources on either of the planned subjects I am doomed to launch them as I had launched the original Bamboo tally article which was planned to be one of the least expanded upon and least in depth section of the Yansheng Coin expansion, however as Bamboo tallies are not a Chinese numismatic charm was forced to spin it off into a separate article, thankfully a Drenthic man gave me an article he translated from French that I could use to greatly expand it, I hope that future editors will work on these charms articles and expand them into something decent, I prefer to make stubs that others can expand than leave the subject completely unrepresented on Wikipedia. As very little information is available online about them in English feel free to use your offline sources to expand these articles. --Donald Trung (talk) 18:14, 17 June 2018 (UTC)
