John Marincola (b. 1954, Pennsylvania) is an American classicist, currently based in Florida State University, where he holds the Leon Golden Professor chair in the Classics Department[1]. He has published several works in the fields of Ancient historiography and rhetoric, in particular on Herodotus.
He graduated in 1979 at University of Pennsylvania[2] and received his PhD in 1985 at Brown University. He is currently one ofthe editors of Histos: On-line journal of ancient historiography[3].
