The Walden School is a Preschool through 8th Grade Montessori based school in Media, Pennsylvania.
History
[edit]Founded in 1967 by Mary Lefever.
Sandy Bank
[edit]In 1998, Walden purchased the Administrative Building of the Rose Tree Media School District. Originally the Sandy Bank School, the building was built in 1904 with an addition in 1924. The building was substantially renovated to suite the needs of Walden. The first classes were held for the 1999-2000 school year.
Mission
[edit]Walden promotes a high standard of academics in a peaceful and caring learning environment. Walden nurtures the whole child, ignites intellectual curiosity, and fosters independence in a culture of deep and abiding respect.[3]
