Projects on hold
[edit]Universal Userbox project

Medicine Translation Task Force project

MedNav project
[edit]As I started working on my Human Anatomy project, below, I've become increasingly aware of the need to update and standardize the Navbox templates that make navigating these pages so easy. Certainly, much work needs to be done before we can consider porting these templates to French. I've been looking into what it takes to get this done and believe I can be of great assistance in both efforts.
Human Anatomy project
[edit]For quite some time, now, I've been trying to learn more about Human Anatomy using Wikipedia. It's been, at times, a painful affair. There is a huge amount of inconsistency on these pages, particularly in terms of nomenclature. There are good reasons for this, but more importantly, there's plenty of room for improvement. WP:Anatomy has developed some excellent navigational templates, which provide a good foundation to build on. I look forward to working with them to take these pages to the next step.
Transparent Men project
[edit]For a first article, I've chosen to expand Transparent men into a full length article. My main goals for this project are not only to acclimate myself to the Wikipedia tools, mark-up language, procedures and community, but also to gain a deeper understanding of using Interwiki resources and translation efforts. (The original Transparent Man, or Gläserner Mensch, was developed in Germany, and the best resources are on the German Wikipedia page. Unfortunately, I don't know a thing about modern German, so beyond machine translation, I intend to learn how Interwiki translation projects work, and try to get some cross-cultural development, enhancing both English and German pages on the subject.
Lexicography project
[edit]The Lexicography pages are another place for improvement, though for other reasons. Many articles have been around since the beginnings of Wikipedia, have become way overgrown, and need to be WP:Split and polished, while other pages remain only WP:Stubs. There doesn't appear to be a WikiProject dedicated for Lexicography, and WP:Linguistics have rated the venerable OED as Low-importance. Ouch! Of course, that provides an opportunity to start our own WikiProject, based on experience from working with WP:Anatomy.
