Dispersion of Guilt is a Melodic Metal band from Norway.
History
[edit]It started up as a side project late 2009 between the drummer, Mats Klevar Holm, and the lead guitarist and current vocalist Nicolay Hagen. The side project material was mostly written by Nicolay. They wrote some tunes and made Petter Sjule, which is current rhythm guitarist today, play second guitar. In the spring of 2010 decided to make this side project a band. Both Mats Klevar Holm and Nicolay Hagen had main bands at this time. Some weeks later Magnus Hansen Busse, which is the current second guitarist today, joined on bass. As time passed by Nicolay Hagen pursued the unfinished material he was working on at the time. In June 2010 this material were finished and they decided to record a half-lenght album, also called an EP. At this time they had not found a band name yet so they had to do this and promote the band before they released the album. They sat down and begun brain storming as they found out that they wanted a name that ment something deep. Petter Sjule had already a word he wanted to use which was Dispersion. As they had this word, they somehow connected it to the feeling of guilt. They considered several band names and decided with the name Dispersion of Guilt. In July 2010 they entered the studio performing a halflenght album called Valleys of Gold. In september 2010 Bendik Sørensen joined in on bass and the band promoted Magnus Hansen Busse to second guitarist.
Valleys of Gold
[edit]Is a 5 track EP of Dispersion of Guilt. The record is about dreaming your way to a distant land. And the each of the tracks on the record explains how it feels to be in Valleys of Gold and how good it is to come out of the real world and face adventourus things.[1]
