Shailendra Barve is an Indian film score and music composer predominantly working in Marathi-film industry. Starting his career by composing music for plays, television and jingles, he has worked for Marathi as well as Bollywood films. He is best known for his work in the 2012 Marathi film Samhita for which he won the National Film Award for Best Music Direction.
Career
[edit]Barve did his schooling from King George High School, Mumbai and started learning music from then. At the age of 11, he started composing music for plays. He joined Makarand Deshpande's theatre group at the Prithvi Theatre in 1999. Until 2013, he had composed for over 25 plays as part of the group.[1]
For the 2018 Marathi film Ek Sangayachay, he also was playback singer for the song "Dhund Ya Dhua Sa Hai" along with Aarti Kelkar and Vivek Naik.[2]
