Dr. Hari Mohan
Dr. Hari Mohan, Founder-Director received his medical degree from King George’s Medical College, Lucknow in 1952. thereafter he proceeded to England and obtained his DO (Lond.) and FRCS (Edin.). He returned to India in 1956 and joined Irwin & Holy Family Hospitals, New Delhi as Hony. Ophthalmic Surgeon and started his private practice. He was associated with Maulana Azad Medical College as Honorary Professor till1968. He was appointed Hony. Ophthalmic Surgeon to the President of India in 1968 and retains this position till date.He has a keen desire to teach and keep abreast with the latest innovations. He has made significant contribution to the science of modern ophthalmology in India.
In recognition of his unique service to the Nation he was decorated by the President of India with the coveted Nation Award of Padma Shri in 1971. He was awarded FRCOphth. in 1989, by the Royal College of Ophthalmologists, UK. In 1996 he was presented Dr. B. C. Roy National Award by The President of India. He was awarded FRCS (Glasgow) ad eundeum, the highest honour the Glasgow college confers in 2002.
