Grasshopper is a privately held company that provides a virtual phone system for entrepreneurs. It works just like a traditional phone system, but requires no hardware to purchased. It can all be managed online or by phone. They provide toll free or local numbers in the United States and Canada (only toll free numbers) with call forwarding, unlimited extensions, custom main greeting and many more. With their online management system, it is possible to tag and move messages.
History
[edit]Grasshopper was formerly known as GotVMail and founded by Siamak Taghaddos and David Hauser in 2003. In May 2009, the company re-branded and is now called Grasshopper. The clever idea was to Fedex 5,000 real chocolate covered grasshoppers to influential entrepreneurs throughout the United States.
