User:Depalmal/Neurula project proposal
Content
[edit]The current Wikipedia article on the neurula defines what a neurula is, explains neurulation in a short paragraph, and contains a section regarding health consequences due to errors in neurulation.
To improve this page, we will expand upon the explanation of neurulation, adding specific details for a deeper understanding. This will include the stages of development of the neurula. However, we will not overdo this as there is already a Wikipedia page for neurulation.
The role of neurulation in the development of left/right asymmetry will be discussed.
The health/disease section will also be expanded upon. Neural tube defects will be discussed in general along with the more severe forms, including the briefly mentioned anencephaly NTD.
Current research regarding the neurula will also be provided.
