WTBA World Singles Championships is a Ten-Pin bowling championship open to countries that are members of WTBA.
Event Details
[edit]Beginning in 2012, the World Singles Championships will be held every four years. This new event gives WTBA a world championship event year, filling a void that existed under the previous calendar. [1]
Format
[edit]The 1st World Singles Championships format was 12 games of qualifying spread over four days with the top 24 advancing to single elimination bracket match play. The top 8 earn a first round bye. The first, second, and quarterfinal rounds are best of five matches. The semifinals and finals are one game matches. The lane pattern used throughout the 1st World Singles Championships was WTBA Montreal pattern, 41 feet.
