I am a forest ecologist living in British Columbia. I helped create the biogeoclimatic ecosystem classification system for B.C. when I was an ecologist with the Forest Service Research Branch (28 years). Since 2009, I have been doing ecological consulting, mostly working for clients in B.C. and Yukon. As part of one contract, I have been asked to create the initial draft of a "biogeoclimatic ecosystem classification" (BEC) wikipedia page. BEC is widely used in B.C. for understanding BC's diverse range of ecosystems and is a foundation for resource management in the province. As such, a wikipedia page would be helpful to many trying to understand the classification system and how to use its various publications.
