Danton Supple
Danton Supple (born 15 November 1965 in London) is a British Record Producer. His Music Business career started in 1985 at Sarm Studios, London training under legendary producers Trevor Horn, Steve Lipson, Julian Mendelssohn and Langer/ Winstanley. Initially the assistant to Trevor Horn he moved into engineering, going freelance in 1994.
As a freelance recording engineer he worked on many projects with top producers such as Steve Lillywhite, Gil Norton, Brian Eno and Phil Spector. These projects included albums with Morrissey, U2, Patty Smith, Suede, Cast, Elbow and Bush.
He moved into production and mixing working with many successful artists including Coldplay, Morrissey and Starsailor, He mixed Coldplay's Rush Of Blood to the Head and produced Coldplay's album X&Y which went on to become the best selling album in the world in 2005. He also mixed Amy Macdonald's multi million selling albums 'This is the Life' and 'A Curious Thing' and albums and tracks for artists including Ian Brown, Oceansize, The Doves, Natalie Imbruglia, Ed Harcourt, Tina Arena, Charlie Simpson and Soulsavers.
Danton's production work has taken him to the UK, France, US, New Zealand, Cuba, Italy, Norway, Tanzania, Slovakia and China. He had been working with US Producer Phil Spector in 2003 when Spector murdered actress Lana Clarkson.
Recent projects include new Universal signing Norma Jean Martine, a third album with Soulsavers, Hudson-Taylor, Tallulah Rendall and Kate Miller. It also involved a few months in Havana recording top Cuban musicians in 2014.
He is now based at London's Strongroom Studios in Shoreditch.
