Edit warriors
[edit]- You make an entirely innocuous edit to a page. Someone reverts it with a summary that seems completely unrelated to the contents of your edit. What do you do?
- If the answer involves reverting them, follow-up question: They revert you again, this time without an edit summary. What do you do?
Tendentious editors
[edit]- You start a talkpage thread about what you see as a clear problem in an article. The first four editors who show up all insist there is no issue at all. You respond to each of them, but it's no use. They're certain that you're wrong, and in fact some think the only problem is that the article doesn't go far enough in the direction it currently goes. What do you do?
COIs
[edit]- Under what circumstances would it be appropriate for you to edit mainspace regarding {topic of COI}?
Editing-restriction-ees
[edit]Any
[edit]- Under what circumstances would it be appropriate for you to make an edit regarding {subject of restriction}?
TBANs
[edit]- List three articles of varying proximity to the topic area. For instance, for a GENSEX topic ban, Aimee Challenor, Kyrsten Sinema, and Kesha. To what extent, if any, would it be acceptable for you to edit each of these articles?
0-1RRs
[edit]- Questions from § Edit warriors will likely also be useful here.
- An editor adds an unsourced claim that a BLP subject has divorced their spouse. [If 1RR: You revert once, and they revert in turn, saying "I just saw this on the news."] What do you do?
- An editor adds the following sentence to an article about Acme Corp.: "Acme Corp. lost $10 million in {most recent quarter}, obviously because of their absurd <pro-/anti-><LGBT/Israel/China/Trump/Biden/Russia/Ukraine/Al Qaeda/circumcision/ketchup-on-eggs> views." The edit is sourced to a reliable source documenting the loss but not mentioning the views, and a blog post mentioning both. [If 1RR: You remove the latter half of the sentence or revert outright, and they revert in turn, saying "stop ur propaganda"] What do you do?
