CT

[edit]

Noted. Got a little carried away with the helping. Ryu Kaze 02:13, 23 July 2006 (UTC)

I think I let myself do a bit more than I would have otherwise because I know him, sort of kind of. I recognize his name and work from GameFAQs, where we've argued/debated/otherwise conversed before. He's one of the most CT-dedicated people on the planet. Ryu Kaze 02:16, 23 July 2006 (UTC)
Fair enough. I have no intentions of usurping his personal mission and the accomplishment thereof, so I'll try to back off as you have done. Ryu Kaze 02:21, 23 July 2006 (UTC)
Yeah, I think so too. We were real lucky that I found some criticism stuff. The lack of it was really the only thing hurting the page. Ryu Kaze 02:27, 23 July 2006 (UTC)

I know I was supposed to be doing little to nothing now on this page, but since Zeality said help is welcome and I would like to see it succeed, I'm still performing copyedits, while leaving in some things I might normally take out (if someone else comes along and suggests removing them, then I'd feel more comfortable). I think I am actually helping and that Zeality is appreciative of the aid. I think he was carrying the workload pretty much on his own. Ryu Kaze 00:28, 24 July 2006 (UTC)

Strife = Irony

[edit]

Yeah, I was at one time searching for a way to repair that article, but now I believe ritrualistic suicide would be more sane. The funny thing is, it wouldn't be that bad of a page IF it wasn't the most cruftastic article on Wikipedia. I would just pray for blanking vandalism. ~ Hibana 05:32, 23 July 2006 (UTC)

I'm very impressed with how much FFVIII has improved since the two of you tackled it. With Ryu and Crazyswordsman simulatenously driving for FFVI, I think we'll eventually have an even-numbered Final Fantasy title featurette. ~ Hibana 05:39, 23 July 2006 (UTC)

I'd like to say I helped with the FA articles, but as I told Ryu I'm terrible with prose and really only work by formatting and copyedits. Plus, it usually takes a feature article nomination for me to review an entire article again and again. I've been meaning to edit Final Fantasy VII in a good way: it needs more references for the negative criticism, the Compilation section needs to be in paragraph format, and there needs to be a subsection in Gameplay on the prominence minigames in the game and their origin for future FF titles. But, I'm no good at it, so I figured I'd wait til' the feature drives are done for the other games to ask for help. I'm sure the two of you could perfect it as well. ~ Hibana 05:54, 23 July 2006 (UTC)

in response to your comment

[edit]

Lingeron, I thought we agreed to disagree so that this issue did not escalate

I didn't agree to anything.

(I received no response, so thus, it has to be assumed that you agreed)

Receiving no response does not deduct to assuming anything.

Why are you continuing to try and parade my advice around as a threat,

I paraded nothing. I found the threat you made (fallout) a tad disturbing and was discussing it with another editor.

thus escalating matters for the entire community? If people oppose because of the support votes, then we will not have any 75 percent majority, thus resulting in no more administrator promotions. Now please, I ask you to reconsider this viewpoint in fairness.

  1. one oppose vote out of 132 support votes does not constitute 75% of the vote and changes nothing.
  2. I said why I opposed. I still say that. I'm sorry if you don't understand it or don't like it. I stand by it. The more coersion I receive the more against this whole thing I get.
  3. Just come right out and say what you mean by fallout. Just say it.

You said something like you were sorry if you sounded frank. You don't. I am the one who is being honest. If you want to harass me and set the admins after me, go ahead. If you want to block me feel free, I certainly can't stop you. I said the same thing to InShanee. Shannonduck talk 08:10, 23 July 2006 (UTC)

No hard feelings. Peace. Shannonduck talk 09:25, 23 July 2006 (UTC)

Can I

nominate you for bcrat in October? GangstaEB~(penguin logs) 12:59, 23 July 2006 (UTC)

I need help on Bears FAC

[edit]

There have been a series of objections because it seems that the pictures on the page are wrongly identified. There have been objections on the issue of licensing each image, and I need your help on how can I properly license each picture. --Happyman22 00:33, 24 July 2006 (UTC)

Good work on this page. I was going to post this on the FA page, but reconsidered it because I'm not sure it's that important that I wanted to interrupt the nomination. But I genuinely think it would help the article.

Most of this is very well done, but I had a couple of minor issues. First, it should definitely be mentioned that this was the first FF game (and possibly the first cRPG) to provide a large amount of optional backstory for the party members through optional sidequests (especially Shadow, but also pretty much everyone in the World of Ruin). Second, there's a line in Setting about the opera and fine arts being recurring themes in the game and that the society structure parallels the 19th Century. This is true, but I don't think one throwaway line is sufficient to use a reference, you should try to find a review that discusses this. Admittedly both of these are slightly nitpicky. --SevereTireDamage 09:47, 24 July 2006 (UTC)

Next mission: Star Wars

[edit]

I know you've been following my star wars cruft battle over the last few months. Well, I'm ready to step it up. Hopefully, I'll be able to leave the orgnaization/quarentine stage and enter the "real life perspective" metamorphasis phase within the next few weeks ;) — Deckiller 05:07, 23 July 2006 (UTC)

I've been tagging everything I can find with {{in-universe}}, but please-oh-please can Darth Vader be one of the first targets? It's so fixable but so cruft-heavy, and I've been coming off as a lone nut trying to fight the cruft. - A Man In Bl♟ck (conspire | past ops) 05:08, 23 July 2006 (UTC)
Well, I was starting with the most nastiest examples, but I'll work on Darth Vader after these Final Fantasy FAs conclude. By the way, what do you think? — Deckiller 05:13, 23 July 2006 (UTC)
...think about what? - A Man In Bl♟ck (conspire | past ops) 05:13, 23 July 2006 (UTC)
...the Final Fantasy FACs :-P — Deckiller 05:15, 23 July 2006 (UTC)
I wasn't aware of them, and I'm not really very good at telling a FA from anything else. - A Man In Bl♟ck (conspire | past ops) 05:17, 23 July 2006 (UTC)
Ah, it's quite okay. By the way, you think Darth Vader is bad? Cloud Strife is an absolute nightmare. — Deckiller 05:20, 23 July 2006 (UTC)
The hugeness makes me cry. I'm tempted to cut it down to a one-para stub. - A Man In Bl♟ck (conspire | past ops) 05:22, 23 July 2006 (UTC)
I put it on my queue, but I doubt I'll ever get to it. That article should be no more than 30 KB. Heck, even Squall Leonhart, which still has melodramatic issues, is ten times better. — Deckiller 05:24, 23 July 2006 (UTC)
Yeah, always more work to be done than energy or time to do it. - A Man In Bl♟ck (conspire | past ops) 05:34, 23 July 2006 (UTC)
If you had to choose: deleting a six day backlog of orphaned fairuse images or cleaning up Cloud's article? — Deckiller 05:37, 23 July 2006 (UTC)
No question, editing tasks over admin tasks. The images'll get deleted by someone else, eventually. - A Man In Bl♟ck (conspire | past ops) 05:38, 23 July 2006 (UTC)

Team

[edit]

Aye. Have to agree. If there's anybody I could chose to work on one with me when I go into, you'd be the man. Ryu Kaze 02:33, 25 July 2006 (UTC)

Well, I do love me some Star Wars, but it's not something I'm really really into, I'm sorry to say. At least not to the point of attentively and obsessively writing about it. XD I imagine keeping their articles free of cruft and the like must be hell. For that matter, keeping continuity straight must be a pain in the ass, and that's not even considering Expanded Universe junk. Lucas' own stuff has been retconned often enough (he's decided that Boba Fett did survive, right?).
By the way, I have a question. I've not been able to find an answer for it in the help pages, so I hope you'll know. Is it possible to transplant only two edits out of much more than two from a user IP (that is to say, edits made while not logged in) to my name? These specific two belong to me while the rest don't, and I'd much rather not have them combined such as they are. Do you know if there's anything I can do about that? Ryu Kaze 02:39, 25 July 2006 (UTC)
"Oversight", huh? Okay, I'll see if I can find someone with that.
Has your objective with the SW WikiProject been achieved effectively? I imagine Star Wars pages would have to be some of the most difficult in all of Wikipedia in which to consistently get that to work. Ryu Kaze 02:43, 25 July 2006 (UTC)
Ah, that's right. You were gone for quite a while there. Will that be happening again during the upcoming school year? Ryu Kaze 02:46, 25 July 2006 (UTC)

RPG soundtrack top five list

[edit]

Mine are:

  1. Final Fantasy VIII
  2. Chrono Cross
  3. Final Fantasy X
  4. Final Fantasy VI
  5. Final Fantasy VII

I don't feel that I've sampled enough of a variety to make an educated top ten list. I've still yet to touch Xenogears or Xenosaga. Ryu Kaze 18:02, 25 July 2006 (UTC)

No. I've played a few more than that, but not a lot. XD The others I've played are Final Fantasy III, Final Fantasy IV, Final Fantasy V, Final Fantasy IX, Final Fantasy X-2, Final Fantasy Tactics, Front Mission 3 (these latter two are strategy games, but I include them due to some similarities) and Chrono Trigger (as well as Radical Dreamers, but it's not really an RPG). So it's not a very intensive list, I'm afraid. I've sampled many different genres, however. Ryu Kaze 02:14, 26 July 2006 (UTC)

Woonsocket

[edit]

I noticed you're a Rhode Islander. I was looking over the Woonsocket article, and I put it on my FA queue. I probably won't get to expanding the prose for another couple of months (at least until Autumnfest, so I can get a couple of good pics). — Deckiller 05:16, 26 July 2006 (UTC)

Sounds great. I'm pretty new in Woonsocket -- about four years now -- and don't understand why this isn't a tremendously popular part of the state. The houses are beautiful and reasonably priced compared to our southern neighbors. There's minimal hurricane danger, and we're up a couple of hundred feet so flooding is unlikely unless you're right on the river. Easy commute to Boston and Providence and a restorable downtown. It should be enormously popular!Drgitlow 17:47, 26 July 2006 (UTC)

Spira locations

[edit]

Alright. Want me to move it, or would you prefer to? We'll have another round of broken links to fix after this. God, that's getting old. Ryu Kaze 22:10, 26 July 2006 (UTC)

I'm going to go ahead and take care of this thing now. Might as well get the pain over with, eh? It really should be done. Ryu Kaze 00:19, 27 July 2006 (UTC)
Yeah, doing that with every "list" page would have to be a team effort on the part of more than just you and I. We could spend a day or two just fixing all those broken links. Anyway, I'm always tired and lazy (I'm older than you after all, sonny XD), so you'll probably have to be the one to start something up. I'm just motivated to take care of Locations in Spira (yes, the move is complete) right away because I covet my precious Final Fantasy X pages. XD Ryu Kaze 00:24, 27 July 2006 (UTC)
Finally done. D: Ryu Kaze 01:46, 27 July 2006 (UTC)

CT talk page

[edit]

(Copy-pasted message to Deckiller, Crazyswordsman and Zeality) I'm sure you guys would have noticed eventually, but I'm rather impatient, so I thought I'd point it out to you guys. Bill Pringle and I have been having a dispute concerning the Story section of Chrono Trigger, and we decided to settle the matter based on input from others. That being the case, please stop by and let us know your thoughts on this issue. Thanks. Ryu Kaze 23:19, 26 July 2006 (UTC)

Copyedit Episode I

[edit]

Tony suggested that you were a good candidate for some fresh eyes to copyedit Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace which is currently up for FAC. I was wondering if you wouldn't mind doing a run through and giving your support? The Filmaker 03:06, 27 July 2006 (UTC)

Spoiler warning

[edit]

Aye. XD Thank ye. Ryu Kaze 18:49, 27 July 2006 (UTC)

Max Rebo Band

[edit]

Yes, the members of the Max Rebo Band are redirected to that article where they each have a list-style section. I assumed it would make more sense to have Max Rebo, Sy Snootles, and the rest featured on this article rather than having them mixed up in various Lists of .... articles. Is this a problem? I was sort of nervous about doing it. Dmoon1 19:18, 27 July 2006 (UTC)

E-mail

[edit]

Hey, Tyler, check your e-mail for a message from me. I'd prefer to handle a particular something there. Ryu Kaze 21:06, 27 July 2006 (UTC)

Sorry, I gave you that notice before writing it. XD It's sent now. Ryu Kaze 21:22, 27 July 2006 (UTC)
Slight correction. The thing mentioned in the e-mail would actually begin at "19:28, 26 January 2006". Sorry for being a headache. :( Ryu Kaze 21:47, 27 July 2006 (UTC)
Just saw your e-mail. If you're not allowed to do it, don't worry about it. I wouldn't ask you to do something you're not supposed to do. I didn't realize it would fall outside appropriate actions. Thanks anyway for wanting to help, man. Ryu Kaze 22:00, 27 July 2006 (UTC)

Thanks

[edit]

Thanks for the rvv on my user page. Anger22 21:17, 27 July 2006 (UTC)

AfD

[edit]

Yeh, no problem. I don't blame you, if you deleted it, it would've been a drastic measure and probably would've been sent to deletion review. I'll leave it a few weeks and relist it if it appears that it's still a game guide.--Andeh 21:35, 27 July 2006 (UTC)

Random thought

[edit]

What do you think are the chances of us getting Final Fantasy X or one of the other ones in Wikipedia 1.0? Ryu Kaze 22:35, 27 July 2006 (UTC)

Oh. Well, I've heard worse odds. I think it'd be nice for variety, at least. Ryu Kaze 02:06, 28 July 2006 (UTC)
Hmm. You're probably right. Shame that none of the fair-use images would be included, though. In any event, would you like trying to push for it? I'd be equally happy to see either of the two in there, though in many ways, I think it might warm my heart more were it Final Fantasy VIII's. And, yeah, I hope to see Raul's next round of archiving soon too. Ryu Kaze 02:10, 28 July 2006 (UTC)

Bears FAC failed

[edit]

The nomination attempt on the Bears article failed. There seemed to be too many image problems so the article was rejected. Jeronimo's objections tough I thought were a bit weird. He wanted the removal of the current roster section, and he wanted descriptions about all the hall of famers and coaches on the famous player and head coach section. Also when I left a comment on his talk page, he never responded. All I have to say is that I'm asking for your help since you were the driving force behind the NFL's only feature team article so far to help me get this Bears article promoted. I have ran out of ideas on how to improve this article. --Happyman22 02:04, 28 July 2006 (UTC)

Woonsocket

[edit]

Hi, I just took a quick look at Woonsocket and I'd be interested in helping to expand and improve it. Was there anything specific you had in mind? I thought it would be a good idea to ask before just wading in :) Please note, I'm doing some pretty serious work on several other articles right now, so I'm not promising much. --Doc Tropics Message in a bottle 03:12, 28 July 2006 (UTC)

"Back burner" sounds good. BTW - nice to meet you :)--Doc Tropics Message in a bottle 03:18, 28 July 2006 (UTC)
