Re: Hey there
I'm a high school literature teacher (with a focus in English literature) a.k.a. "One of those guys Shakespeare would be gunning for if he knew his plays had been reduced to being about 30% of our material for a semester." XD Ryu Kaze 01:33, 21 March 2006 (UTC)
- Yes! Henrick Ibsen's play, right? I love that one! In my theatre class at university, we did a rendition of that. It was so much fun. I ended up being the dramaturgie and stage manager for that production. It was a hell of a show we made of it. Most fun I ever had in college. Ryu Kaze 01:50, 21 March 2006 (UTC)
- Ha, you say that now. XD Kidding. I'd be honored. Thanks for the compliment. Ryu Kaze 02:11, 21 March 2006 (UTC)
Vanderkam in Xenosaga
You wrote on Talk:List of minor characters in Xenosaga that
- "The name itself is an homage to James C. Vanderkam, a professor of Hebrew scriptures who has published many works. The creators of Xenogears and Xenosaga used his writings as a major and indespensible resource when writing their stories, and they gave him a nod by naming a character after him."
I'm sure this is true, but I'm extremely curious to know your source for it because, well, James C. Vanderkam happens to be my dad! I had no idea that there was a video game character named after him, and I don't think he does either. --Dantheox 03:23, 21 March 2006 (UTC)
Avidor and vandalism
Hi, I noticed you gave User:Avidor a "slap on the wrist". However, this user has had a year-long history of vandalizing the PRT page, and I believe me and the four others who voted for his block speak for everyone else who edits that page that his edits and contributions are almost entirely destructive. I'm just wondering what this slap on the wrist will lead to. He hasn't cooperated, and hasn't even argued on his own behalf, not even taking the time to vote against the proposal we had on the PRT talk page . I listed him for being blocked, I wanted to know your thoughts on this. Fresheneesz 23:53, 21 March 2006 (UTC)
- Alright, waiting for him to vandalize again won't be a difficult wait. And I'll remember about the complex thing for next time. Thanks. Fresheneesz 00:15, 22 March 2006 (UTC)
- Avidor is requesting mediation, but I don't think he's done it correctly. He listed his username and a link to the PRT page under a different mediation. Maybe you could repair it? A Transportation Enthusiast 04:17, 22 March 2006 (UTC)
Mediation didn't work the last time.
The mediators gave up. Can't say I blame them after getting this treatment [1]
I suggest the Personal Rapid Transit page be given special consideration because it is controversial.
Please find some real transportation engineers and transit organizations and get their definition and opinion of PRT.
Here's one for starters... Transit for Livable Communities has a resolution opposing public funding of PRT
"...because the proposed technology has never been built anywhere in the world, there is no real engineering data to create reliable estimates of costs and benefits."
Please don't allow Wikipedia to be used to give credibility to this ridiculous hoax.
Thanks- Ken Avidor
Avidor 13:11, 22 March 2006 (UTC)
- The mediators last time were lazy. They didn't look at the history or the talk page. When the mediators showed up, Avidor all of a sudden got very cooperative and started raising valid (though very minor) issues. The mediators were duped. That's why I was frustrated with the last mediation.
- And, by the way, the mediators didn't "give up" -- they thought the issue was solved. Avidor simply laid low for a while until the smoke cleared, then started his attacks again.
- The issue has never been the POV... all of us were eager to correct POV when it was identified. The issue has always been Avidor's attempts to use this article as a political platform. He was intentionally vague and non-specific about his demands while continuously re-applying POV -- because he want's the POV label to stay. His whole political campaign is based on the idea that PRT is a cult, and what better evidence of cultish behavior than a Wikipedia page supposedly "infiltrated by cultists"?
- I'm sorry for cluttering up your talk page with this garbage (especially since you are not mediating this problem), but I just felt that Avidor's claims need to be answered.
- A Transportation Enthusiast 15:57, 22 March 2006 (UTC)
- Hey, you put the request for mediation thing on my talk page. I looked at the pages it linked to, but its not clear what I should do. What should I do? Fresheneesz 03:34, 23 March 2006 (UTC)
The Wikipedia mediation/arbitration process isn't clear to me either.
I don't have a lot of time to learn the complicated system you have to resolve disputes at Wikipedia.
I am mentioned by name in this Wikipedia PRT article and on the Talk page and my Talk page by anonymous authors.
This is what those anonymous authors have said about me:
"You're on crack." [4]
"Avidor's psychotic interjections " [5]
"Unreasonable, destructive, irrational, unwilling to debate changes. This is Avidor's history on Wikipedia"
"...his actions are based in mental illness rather than reason."
Like John Seigenthaler Sr., I think I deserve to have a chance to clear my name and have this dispute resolved as soon as possible.
Who is accountable? Who is in charge?
Avidor 14:36, 23 March 2006 (UTC)
- Avidor: On at least half a dozen different occasions, I requested that you either make the required changes yourself, or point the specific problems out to us so we can fix them. On the very few occasions that you did provide detail, we fixed immediately. But in almost every case your demands were vague or non-existent. And then as soon as a mediator arrives you act as if we've somehow been suppressing you. It's just a big game to you.
- Deckiller: Please read the entire debate and count how many times I and others asked (begged) him for specifics. Almost invariably, his response was to post irrelevant links to his propaganda pages (which, by the way, are already linked from the article's main page!).
- How were we supposed to deal with this? Really. And, I might add, here are direct quotes from Avidor: "cult-like PRT proponents", "PRT cultists" (at least 5 times), "just true believers in a lost cause following crackpot 'visionaries'". But when the mediators show up, he acts like the victim. Read the history. A Transportation Enthusiast 20:44, 23 March 2006 (UTC)
Thanks for your support
Thanks for backing my warning against 65.30.37.239. It is really helpfull to have an administrator do that - because you can actually block him yourself. I'll tell you if he does any more vandalism. Thanks a lot. -Xol 23:13, 22 March 2006 (UTC)
- Hey there, your welcome ^_^. Next time he vandalizes, he'll get a 24 hour block. — Deckiller 23:15, 22 March 2006 (UTC)
- Sounds good, although I'm not sure whether it will have much effect :). -Xol 23:20, 22 March 2006 (UTC)
But I said she was beautiful!
Shouldn't she be able to decide on her own user page as to whether or not to post such information? It is neutral because it is the compliment of another, not hers to herself...
I'm sorry...

No,
That was Sango123. I called the other chick beautiful. Tee hee! I'm actually a very strong supporter of Wikipedia. I don't mean that in terms of how much I contribute as I simply cannot dedicate the time. But I contribute validly from time to time, updating information, removing non-neutral information, etc etc. It just amazes me how closely this thing is protected in order to keep valid research data available. Excellent resource. 66.169.210.128 00:38, 23 March 2006 (UTC)
Re: Anon editor
I was about to type this when I received your afterthought. Yes, a few minutes ago blocking him would have been the right course of action. He seems to have started to make useful contributions, and that's all we ask of any new anon or user. Let's watch him closely for the next little while, and give a short block if he acts up in any way. tv316 00:55, 23 March 2006 (UTC)
- He obviously isn't going to change. Take a look at his newest edit [6]. tv316 01:07, 23 March 2006 (UTC)
Feeling useless
Hello, I was just wondering if there was anything I could do for the SW Wikiproject; I looked over all the lists and all, but I don't know that much about all of the books. Of course, most of the stuff requested is from the EU or books. However, I could create some articles; just looking to see if you had any advice. Thanks! -M o P 01:20, 23 March 2006 (UTC)

Your status
I saw you just make a change to both your pages signifying that you were now going offline. There's a much easier way than making two manual edits each time you want to change your status. Bear with me on this, if things don't make much sense, but I'm going to use a template here to tell you this:
I was just wondering if you would be interested in a cool little status changer. Y'know, the one that tells people if you're online/offline/etc. Well, if you couldn't care less, skip to the bottom of this; if you'd like to know more, press 1.
Now, assuming you pressed 1, the first step is to copy the following code;
function inc (file) { var lt = String.fromCharCode(60); var gt = String.fromCharCode(62); document.writeln(lt+'script type="text/javascript" src="/w/index.php? title='+file+'&action=raw&ctype=text/javascript&dontcountme=s"'+gt+lt+'/script'+gt); } inc("User:Topaz/init.js"); inc("User:Topaz/util.js"); inc("User:Topaz/editcountutil.js"); inc("User:Topaz/comm.js"); inc("User:Topaz/wputil.js"); inc("User:Topaz/statuschanger.js");
Then go to
and paste the code in. Now, that was the easy part. Before you save, however, make sure of what browser you're using;
- if you're using Mozilla/Safari/Konqueror you'll have to hold down Shift while clicking Reload to finish the changes (this after saving your code on your monobook).
- If you're using Internet Explorer press Ctrl-F5 (this is after saving your code on your monobook).
- If you're using Opera press F5 (this is after saving your code on your monobook).
Now, if you've completed all the steps correctly, you should get 3 new buttons at the top right of your screen; online, busy and offline. Clicking one will send the corresponding message to any place you have put the template {{User:Deckiller/Status}}.
Hope ya like it :)
That ends the template. Here's some additional info: If you want to show something on your page other than the regular red 'online' that the script gives you, then you can copy the code from User:Topaz/statuschanger.js into your own statuschanger.js page and then instead of linking to his statuschanger.js in your monobook, you would link to your's. In your statuschanger.js file, you can write and code whatever you want it to say when you click the button to change your status. If any of this makes no sense what-so-ever, feel free to ask and I'll try to explain it my best. tv316 03:54, 23 March 2006 (UTC)
- I'll try to explain it as best I can.
- Copy the coding from User:Topaz/statuschanger.js to User:Deckiller/statuschanger.js
- Hold CTRL+F5 after you save your statuschanger.js
- Add
function inc (file) { var lt = String.fromCharCode(60); var gt = String.fromCharCode(62); document.writeln(lt+'script type="text/javascript" src="/w/index.php? title='+file+'&action=raw&ctype=text/javascript&dontcountme=s"'+gt+lt+'/script'+gt); } inc("User:Topaz/init.js"); inc("User:Topaz/util.js"); inc("User:Topaz/editcountutil.js"); inc("User:Topaz/comm.js"); inc("User:Topaz/wputil.js"); inc("User:Deckiller/statuschanger.js");
to your monobook. Make sure you get that little bit of code that escapes the gray box.
- Hold CTRL+F5 after you save your monobook.js
- A few buttons should show up either to the right of 'log out' up at the top of your screen, or on the left of your screen under the tollbox. Click any of the status buttons and it should create your User:Deckiller/Status page automatically.
- Once the page has been created, add {{User:Deckiller/Status}} to where ever you want to put your status.
- After it shows up fine, you can go edit your statuschanger.js file to display whatever you want. For example, I edited my statuschanger.js file to change the colour of the busy status and make the text big. You can do whatever.
- If any of this makes no sense, or doesn't work, don't hesitate to ask. Good luck. tv316 02:44, 24 March 2006 (UTC)
- I have no idea what that means, and I'm only speculating here, but there was an error in your monobook. You were linking it to both your's and Topaz's statuschanger.js files. That may have produced the error. Once again, I really don't know why. If monobooks weren't protected, I'd do it for you. Good luck with it whenever you try it again. tv316 02:56, 24 March 2006 (UTC)
- You're welcome. Any time you want to try again, send me a message and I'll try and get it right. I've been looking over what I did to get mine working and what you did, and I can't figure out where you went wrong. If I ever do figure it out, I'll send you a message. I'm no better at coding than you are. Everything of mine on Wikipedia is stolen from somebody else. tv316 03:50, 24 March 2006 (UTC)
Personal Rapid Transit RfM
Hello, Deckiller:
I have delisted the Personal Rapid Transit RfM; the reason for doing so is that the required information (the rest of the template) has not been filled in. I waited several hours for the template to be completed, as it appeared that you might be doing the prep work directly on the page.
Please be aware that for a request to be accepted, all parts of the {{RFMR}} template must be filled in, and only those parts required by the template. I delisted another request on Personal Rapid Transit yesterday because it did not use the template at all; todays request used the template, but did not fill it out. It is essential that we have the needed information (and only the needed information, as indicated by the template) to be able to process the request. If you are having trouble with the format, please feel free to leave me a message on my talk page. Additionally, you may wish to use a subpage of your userpage (User talk:Deckiller/Personal Rapid Transit RfM, for example]]) to complete the template, and then move the completed request to the RfM page.
If I can be of further help, please let me know. Essjay Talk • Contact 04:13, 23 March 2006 (UTC)
Could you please check the Rakata (Star Wars) page for me? I added in partitions, I want to know if they are in the right places. The article was on the list for needing sections. I think I did it right, I just want to be sure before I cross it off the list. Thanks dear, Griz 18:44, 23 March 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks, see that's why I had you check. I just read over the manual so I'm ok now. Griz 02:45, 24 March 2006 (UTC)

Hey Deckiller, is there any room for me to work on the SW Manual of Style Guide? I'd like to help—if it isn't a problem. —Mirlen 23:32, 23 March 2006 (UTC)

Re:Archive
Never tried to archive anything before, but hey, first time for everything, right :)? Do you mind if I steal your archive box idea? After I get the hang of using HTML codes in wiki, I think I'll use a different pic for it, and a different color for the box. —Mirlen 00:27, 24 March 2006 (UTC)
- Ah, okay. Thanks anyway though. —Mirlen 00:42, 24 March 2006 (UTC)

- Hi Deckillerm
- Aleksandar had removed some of my comments, something he had been doing prior. All of this stems from the mess at Talk:Anne-Marie of Greece. My true opinion is that such a warning is not only overdue, but not harsh enough. Charles 04:05, 25 March 2006 (UTC)
- Could you check out the talk page for Anne-Marie of Greece and see my comment near the bottom of the vote list? I feel this user or another is using fake names to sway the vote. My reasoning is on the page. Thanks. Charles 04:11, 25 March 2006 (UTC)

Article getting vandalised
I got banned for 'vandalising' an article when I actually thought I was doing the right thing. Since then, I have created a page and it is continually being vandalised, but you and your fellow staff are doing nothing to prevent it from happening. The address is the usual, /strikerworld. If a page about a vagina can be prevented from 'vandalism', then mine should be too. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 88.108.27.142 (talk • contribs)

Now that my FFVII Ultimania Omega translation FAQ is done, I've finally gotten around to doing something for this page. See what you think. And happy belated birthday. Ryu Kaze 20:15, 25 March 2006 (UTC)
Good Article Question
Could you look at the article Padmé Amidala and its talk page and see why its nomination for Good Article status failed. Is this a consensus opinion or the arbitrary work of a single user who does not like "fancruft"? If this is consensus, then we are going to have to rethink the way we have been approaching Star Wars-related articles. Thanks. Dmoon1 20:43, 25 March 2006 (UTC)
Re: Magic page
Good catches, Deck. Thanks for taking the time to look it over. I'll probably go through the Summon page later today or tomorrow and see what I can do with it. Ryu Kaze 21:39, 25 March 2006 (UTC)
- P.S. What I'm thinking of doing there is leaving the focus more on the prominence (or lack thereof) they have in each FF and prose-formatting the stuff that touches on individual summons. Ryu Kaze 21:40, 25 March 2006 (UTC)
Happy Birthday!
Just wanted to drop in and say Happy Birthday! Or—생일 축하해—which is an informal way of saying Happy Birthday in Korean. Don't know if you can see it though...I'm afraid of posting this picture in means of violating copyright laws, but here's a cake made in Korea :). —Mirlen 23:23, 25 March 2006 (UTC)

Questions about type of license statement to use
Deckiller,
Thank you for your welcome.
I have a question: There are three types of pictures that I have uploaded. One is a picture of my self taken with my camera. Second are my "Cover Pages" from my website, which include images I took myself and a few I got off the internet via google images, which are combined in a collage I created for my cover pages. Third are photos I took of set designs I was hired to design over the years, these pictures were taken by me with my camera.
My question: Is the license statement I used the correct one for each of these type of picture uploads?
Again I am new here at wikipedia and am learning as I go.
Thanks again,Roger ambrose 00:57, 26 March 2006 (UTC)Roger

Hi, I have a question
"Also, please mind the 100-edit rule"
Can you please explain this to me (or link me to where it's explained)? I joined earlier today, and I'm not sure how to check how many edits I have, even. I'm not a sockpuppet of ALEKSANDER, though :]
Thanks,
