Introduction

Mark Lazar (born July 19, 1977) is an American curler on the Olympic level. He competed in the 2005 United States Olympic Trials and is currenly preparing for the 2013 trials. Starting his career out of the Bowling Green Curling Club, he now calls the Detroit Curling Club home because as he states, " The challenge of the Detroit ice will prepare me for anything."

Early Life

Originaly it was thought that Mark was was born on the southside of Toledo, OH. However, it has been discovered that his is actually the half brother of Kal-El or better known as Superman. Born Mal-El on the planet Krypton, the brothers were rocketed to Earth as infants by their scientist father Jor-El, moments before Krypton's destruction. Mal-El's pod landed in Ohio and he was raised by his adoptive family. Unfortunately he was not graced witht he powers of his brother and lead a normal life until College.

While attending Bowling Green University Mark stumbled upon a 1 credit PE elective in curling. On the first day of class Mark realized he was a "natural," and because not only the best curler in his class but gained the attention of many curling media guides. Soon the name Mark Lazar was being talked about in clubs from North Dakota to Minnesota.

In 2005 Mark was lead for the Don Barcome Jr. Rink at the Olympic trials. While they only placed 10th in the competition, Mark was the talk of the competition. It has been rumored that Pete Fenson asked Mark to be his teams alternate, but that Mark turned him down because he had no intrest in traveling to Italy, due to Marks widley known stance on the abuses of the Italian Sheepskin condom industry.

Currently Mark is curling out of the Detroit Curling Club and is in both semi-finals of the two most important leagues. He is forming his team to head to the 2013 Olympic Trials and is consider a front-runner to head to Russia.
