Green Transport Week
Green Transport Week was launched in 1992 by the Environmental Transport Association. The aim of the week is to have as many people as possible make a small step in the direction of lessen their transport impact on the environment. The format of the event has remained the same every year since then. All the borough, city and county governments are invited to compete to host a launch day to show case green transport projects in their area. The ETA then chooses the most adventurous bid.
History 1990 Rochester was the launch city and Keith Hill, the Under Secretary of State for DETR was the keynote speaker.
