My name is Dave Hanks and I live in Leonardtown, MD, with my wife and 2 daughters. I grew up in Little Rock, AR and earned a B.A. in Human Biology from the University of Kansas. I then served in the US Navy for several years as an aviator before working for an engineering services firm in Maryland doing flight testing for a few years. After earning an MBA from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University part-time, I had the opportunity to take an executive position for a firm in the food distribution industry, moving to Dallas, TX. I then decided to return to the defense industry, where I now do program management and engineering consulting work for an aviation program. I'm currently enrolled in the MS in Biotechnology program at Johns Hopkins University. Having always been captivated by the energy, promise, and science of the biotech/pharmaceutical industries, my long-term goal is to transition to the life sciences industry, perhaps in a project management or program management capacity. My current employer has a life sciences division, and my goal is to eventually leverage my education and experiences to transfer to this division, and, as part of my research as I earn my degree, provide my employer with new market opportunities to consider and invest.
