Big stuff: user page for Dave Shishkoff. Also known as Dave Noisy in some circles.
Born: February 23, 1976 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Spent time growing up in the following Ontario locales: Mississauga, Wiskey Harbour and Wiarton, and went to West Hill Secondary School in Owen Sound. Moved to Victoria, British Columbia in 1993, and has remained there, with the exception of spending a year in Vernon, BC and five months in 2001 in Norfolk, Virginia (interned at PETA, blah), followed by five months in Toronto (then promptly shot back to Victoria).
Is a long-time and relatively well-known vegan (since 1990) and animal rights activist, and runs The Victoria Vegan project - http://TheVictoriaVegan.com . Primarily focused on promoting veganism and animal rights, and accurately conveying their messages (such as the message vegan founder Donald Watson promoted; trying to get people to realize animal rights is a rights-based movement, and that certain principles must be followed in order for that activism to be called 'animal rights'. Is extremely puzzled as to why so many groups and individuals would purport to promote 'animal rights' when it isn't what they're promoting, and signed up to Wikipedia in an effort to help set this straight.)
Is a bike racer for OrganicAthlete, and his popular vegan cycling blog can be found here: http://cycling.davenoisy.com - Dave focuses on track racing, but also does road, cyclocross and off-road. His main riding/racing bikes include an Argon 18 Element track bike, an Argon 18 Radon road bike (now winterized), a Salsa Chili Con Crosso cyclocross bike, and most recently (Nov '08) a Niner RIP9 full-suspension MTB. Fun times!
In a previous life he was a recording musician, under the project 'The Noisies', more info can be found here: http://www.TheNoisies.com (which is where Dave 'Noisy' came from.)
Dave prefers communication via email, if you would like to discuss any related items with him, send a note to: vegantrackie >at< gmail.com .
