Chris Garrod (aka Chris Rolfe), born on 25th February, 1959 in Pembury, Tunbridge in Kent, UK.
An avid Shortwave Listener during the 1970s, and during the 1980s helped to form an English Service on a French radio station RBL (Radio Bolougne Littoral), which was based on the French Channel Coast. In December, 1983 flew out to Israel to work as a Radio Presenter on the Offshore Radio station the Voice of Peace. Flewback to England in December, 1984 and became involved in several other Radio ventures. In 1994, worked in the News Department of an RSL called Shepway Sound, which broadcast from his home town of Folkestone, Kent, UK. Folkestone has a history of Radio Broadcasting involvement back in the 1960s, and many DJs from the Folkestone area had worked for various Radio stations around Europe. In the early 2000s he was involved with a couple of Newstand magazines, writing articles for them.
Since 2006 worked for a large employer in Anti Terrorist activities, until early retirement in 2017 due to ill health. Has two daughters Megan and Mollie who are now in their early 20s, and has two Grandchildren. Still lives in Folkestone, and is involved in work with the Emergency Communications organization known as RAYNET (Radio Amatuers Emergency Network), and is a Flood Warden for the Environment Agency, both on a Voluntary basis.
