Shahril Sufian Bin Hamdan (born 29 October 1985) is a Malaysian politician. He is the Information Chief of UMNO & the Vice Chief of Youth Movement of UMNO. He is a member of the United Malays National Organisation (UMNO), a major party in the Barisan Nasional (BN) coalition.
Previously, he was a strategy and management consultant at McKinsey and Company for three years, a placement manager at Teach For Malaysia for a few months, and a policy officer to YB Khairy Jamaluddin for two years—Shahril’s first job immediately upon graduation. He graduated in Economics from the University of Manchester under a Bank Negara Malaysia’s scholarship in 2008 and completed his master’s degree in Race Ethnicity and Postcolonial Studies from the London School of Economics Political Science, upon receiving a full Chevening’s scholarship from the British Foreign and Commonwealth Office.
Since March 2020, he has been the Information Chief of UMNO and a member of UMNO Supreme Council chaired by the Party President. He won the post of UMNO Deputy Youth Chief in the national party election of the UMNO Youth Wing. Prior to this, Shahril was an Executive Committee member of UMNO Youth. At UMNO's grassroots level, he has held the post of Youth Chief for the Kuala Langat Division.
