The Patriots–Steelers rivalry is a National Football League (NFL) rivalry between the New England Patriots and the Pittsburgh Steelers. During the 2000s, the rivalry formed and intensified because of the star quarterbacks Tom Brady and Ben Roethlisberger, despite neither team being in the same division (the Patriots are in the American Football Conference's East division while the Steelers are in the AFC North division). The Steelers and Patriots have played at least once a year in recent years, and have met in the postseason three times since 2000, with the Patriots winning all three times in 2002, 2005, and 2017.
