MIMIC II[1][2] (Multiparameter Intelligent Monitoring in Intensive Care) is a medical database collected from patients admitted to intensive care units at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center between 2001 and 2008. It has been de-identified and is available to qualified researchers, subject to signing of a data use agreement.
Content
[edit]The database contains medical information related to a patient's ICU stay. All identifying information has been removed and the dates have been randomly shifted, while preserving intervals.
- Basic data: hospital admission/discharge dates, ICU in/out times. DOB, DOD, marital status, religion, ethnicity, insurance type.
- Vital signs: Heart rate, blood pressure, oxygen saturation.
- Billing codes: ICD9, DRG, CPT.
- Test results: Lab tests including creatinine, bilirubin, sodium and potassium. Microbiology test results.
- Notes and reports: Nursing progress notes, discharge summaries, MRI and CT reports.
- Medications and fluids: IV medications and fluids given. Fluid outputs.
- Waveforms: High resolution waveforms from the bedside monitors[3]: ECG, blood pressure, pulse plethysmogram, respiration.
