Mahmoud Mohamed El Esseily، mostly known as Mahmoud El Esseily (Arabic: محمود العسيلي)، is an Egyptian singer, songwriter and actor.[1]That has built a strong name and growing fan base all over the Middle East especially in Egypt. His music has been around for a while however recently hitting top charts in the Arabic pop music genre.

The Well known and established Egyptian singer Mahmoud El Esseily got married to his wife on Friday the 13th of November 2015. He got married on one of the many beautiful beaches in Sahl Hasheesh in Hurghada, Egypt. He shared a picture of himself and his bride hours before the wedding and called his bride "a gift from God".This marriage however is not his first, this is Mohamoud El Esseily's 2nd marriage, he also has a 5 year old son from his first marriage.[3]

The Start of El Esseily's Career

Mahmoud El Esseily started to take an interest in singing while he was still in school. He went to American University in Cairo، where he won the best singer award، and later on، he made his own band.[1] He has since become a well established and popular musician all over the Middle East. Esseily studied mass communication and integrated marketing at the American university in Egypt and he participated in every talent show since freshman year, he even released a song “Khayef men bokra” in the university’s CD. In one of those talent shows a friend’s brother decided to produce a song for him and later on the idea developed into being a whole album..[4]

Esseily had a hard time deciding which song would be the song he releases as his first single, his producers and friends suggested that he release his song "Magnona", but he was not completely convinced. He was expected to sing at the AUC carnival and open for Amr Diab. He sang "Magnona" and the crowd went wild and asked him for an encore three consecutive times. He felt overwhelmed and flattered and was then sure that "Magnona" would be his first single.[4]

In 2002، he performed with Lebanese superstar Elissa in a concert، where he meet with producer Ayman Abbas، who offered him producing his first album who offered him producing his first album، called “Rayeh Ala Fein”، which was produced in 2004.[1]

Director Ayman Abbas decided to collaborate with two young businessmen Hazem Al-Kassil and Shamil Abu Al-Fadl to establish the production company named "Future Productions", and decided to make El Esseily's album their first production. On July 18, 2003, Esseili filmed the music video for his single "Magnouna" with director Sameh Magdy, and on November 25, 2003, it was aired for the first time and achieved great success. On July 18, 2004, he filmed "Rayeh Ali Feen" with director Hassan Aboul Fattouh. [5]

Esseily became well known for singing his singles “Tararam” and “Magnona”، which achieved great success.[1]

Following the release of his first album “Raye7 3ala fein” with Future music he became a celebrity well known for his different musical style. From his first album he shot two music videos, "Raye7 3ala fein" and "Tabat w Nabat" that was a song featuring Boshra.[4]

He started planning for his next album immediately after he finished the first one and as fate would have it his second album would be released with Mazzika in 2006, both of his albums were musically composed by him. In addition the lyrics he mostly wrote on his won, and some others with cooperation from friends, family and talented writers. Esseily also released a trio in love of Egypt called “ Akeed fi Masr” which became a national hit which he sang along with, Mohamed el Kilany and May Seleem. He composed the music, and the lyrics were a cooperation between Esseily and a brilliant song writer called Mohamed Fayez.[4]

His Third album was released in 2009. This album’s name was “Tool Manty Ganby” and this album witnessed Esseily’s first cooperation with the brilliant lyricist Ayman Bahgat Amar making it a first in cooperation with artists outside his circle. Ayman wrote the title song “ Tool Manti Ganby”.[4]

His Last album was ready to be released in 2010 but then the Egyptian revolution sparked, so Esseily decided to postpone the release of his album to a better timing and instead he released “El Agzakhana” which was a song set to be in his postponed album and it fit perfectly with the spirit of the innovation of Egypt.[4]

Finally years after the release of his previous Album Esseily Released his brand new Album “ Donia gedeeda” two more songs were added throughout the course of the 2 years to make this album. In which he cooperated for the first time with other composers and lyricists to give the album a new and unique edge.[4]

After the release of his last album in 2012, Mahmoud El Esseily decided to only produce and perform singles rather than albums.Including: "Tabbat we Nabat" featuring Boshra, "Akeid Fe Masr" with Mei Selim and Mohamed Kilani, and "Kam Wahed" with Zab Tharwat.[5]

Recently in 2017, Mahmoud El-Esseily claimed the first rank on YouTube's top tracks list in Egypt with his latest video clip for his single “Fou2y” which translates to (Wake Up!), which got 4 million views after just two months of release. The single "Fou2y" is written and composed by Esseily and directed by Alaa Khaled. Esseily posted on Instagram saying that he wrote the lyrics in four hours at a cafe with in Egypt with the Egyptian actor Sheko and music composer Mohamed Medhat. [6]
