1. Hello. I was looking at the talk page for Dalai Lama, and it said something about being semi-protected. What's that/how does it work? A pyrate's life for me... (talk) 12:18, 15 September 2008 (UTC)

Semi-protection is a strategy for reducing vandalism that restricts editing to established accounts. After an account has been registered for 4 days, it's autoconfirmed and that user can edit semi-protected pages. There has been a great deal of vandalism to Tibet-related pages since March (2008 Tibetan unrest), so a lot of them are semi or completely protected. --Gimme danger (talk) 14:50, 15 September 2008 (UTC)
