[edit]About me
[edit]I love playing the piano and violin and creating music. One day, I want to start a YouTube channel to make song covers and publish my own music. It is possible to even make money on YouTube[1]. Building something and creating art are also things I like to do. I am hoping to study computer science in the future and pick up a lot of new knowledge by taking different types of classes in school. When I want to relax, I love to sit back and enjoy a good TV show or movie. I look forward to a great future and I am motivated to make it the best.
My Wikipedia interests
[edit]First of all, let me say that Wikipedia is such a great thing. It has all sorts of information that just keeps on growing. I would like to be able to help share information to others by adding on to topics that I have knowledge of. I love how we volunteers are able to bring our findings together to create a page packed with information on just one single subject. Over time, I hope that I can fix any misinformation that has been shared to the public. I do not want people to learn about things that are not true.
Article evaluation
[edit]I have been playing the piano for quite a few years. One of the first popular songs I learned to play was by an artist named Yiruma. His music is very well known and used in many movies. I visited the article about Yiruma on Wikipedia and found three aspects of it worth commenting on: its few reliable sources, its lack of up-to-date information, and its lack of citations.
Few reliable sources
[edit]I saw that the Wikipedia page does have sources, but not all of them are reliable. The page includes links to sites that are written by volunteers. Some of these sites only briefly mention the things in the article, making the information seem less trustworthy. The page also includes websites that are no longer showing the information from the article, or at least, not going directly to the site where the evidence should be. Most of the sources are from many years ago.
Up-to-date
[edit]The article itself is missing important information and does not include many newer sources. Most of the content is about the songs written by the artist rather than about the artist himself. The majority of the article are the names of the songs. Information about the artist is very little and does not provide much knowledge about him. There are a lot more things that somebody can write about Yiruma.
Citations
[edit]On top of having little information, there are almost no citations to support them. The information from the "Live Albums" section in the article is not proven accurate with a source. The chance of having wrong information is more likely to occur. An "External Links" is included. However, these also do not provide evidence for said "facts."
Summary
[edit]Overall, the Wikipedia article about Yiruma could use more work. Editors should add citations to claims, and current sources should be updated and checked. There is little information about Yiruma himself in the article. Instead, his song titles make up most of the page. The page does not have enough information about the artist himself.
