The Aliarcham Academy of Social Sciences (Indonesian: Akademi Ilmu Sosial "Aliarcham") was a university run by the Communist Party of Indonesia (PKI) in the 1950s and 1960s.[1] It was named after Aliarcham, an Indonesian Communist of an earlier generation who had died in the Dutch concentration camp at Boven-Digoel.[2][1]
History
[edit]The Aliarcham Academy, along with all other PKI academic institutions, was shut down by decree of the Minister of Education Brigadier General Sjarif Thajeb in 1965.[1]
Legacy
[edit]Since 2020, an Indonesian YouTube channel teaching Marxist theory has been using the name Akademi Aliarcham.[3]
