Car Alarm is the 70th episode of the TV series Kim Possible. It marks the time when Kim Possible receives an old and worn-out car, but Jim & Tim update it into a new and more efficient car.

Plot Summary

As Kim Possible walks to meet Ron at Bueno Nacho, her rival Bonnie pulls up in a brand-new car, with the intent to put Kim down for walking. Although she shrugs it off, seeing Ron Stoppable drive up in his slow moped does raise a valid point to her. Kim needs her own car, preferably one that can outdo Bonnie's.

In prison, Dr. Drakken (who's been in his cell ever since So the Drama) is currently putting up with his extremely chatty cellmate, Frugal Lucre. His hopes for escape escalate when he hears the all-too-familiar shout of his cousin, Motor Ed, but is deflated when he busts out Shego instead. Although Shego would prefer to have nothing to do with her employers' mullet-headed moron of a cousin, she reluctantly agrees to help Ed in his new scheme.

At the car lot, Kim takes notice at an impressive new car, but the price puts her off. Later at home, Kim's parents takes notice of her plight, which brings Kim's dad to reveal his old car... his extremely old, broken-down, long-since recalled car.

Kim initially tries to fix it up herself, but with no luck. Her younger brothers, however, offer to help on the condition that she becomes their personal "car monkey" and drive them wherever they want, when they want. Kim eventually relents and gives the Tweebs their way (as well as a signed contractual agreement).

It doesn't take Kim long to realize that playing driver to the Tweebs is downright degrading, particularly when Bonnie sees the backseat passengers. After several stops on order of the Tweebs, Kim eventually stops by the Middleton Space Center to see her dad. Inside, Dr. James Possible reveals his newest project: an experimental rocket thruster dubbed "Kepler", a rocket so powerful it could literally tear its surroundings apart should it be launched. Not surprisingly, Motor Ed shows up to steal it, with Shego arriving to fight Kim for the first time since So the Drama. The villains make off with the rocket and attempt to escape in Ed's vehicle, with Kim following in her own car. Unfortunately, Motor Ed proves to be too fast. The Tweebs, however, do not appreciate having been outdone.

In Ed's hideout, Motor Ed attempts to apply the Kepler to his car. Shego tries to understand exactly what Ed's plan is, but the mulleted mechanic refuses to divulge the details. However, he does suggest that Shego put on a disguise...

Several remodifications later, Kim's new and improved car is on the road again, and not a moment too soon. As Motor Ed and Shego (who's now wearing a horrendous 80's outfit) speeds by, Kim follows. Thanks to the Tweebs, the car is well-beyond capable of keeping up with Ed's vehicle, as proven when the first use of the rocket thruster literally sends the car into orbit (as well as demolish Bonnie's car, much to Kim's delight).

As Motor Ed prepares to activate the Kepler, Shego comments on how his plan to cause massive destruction from the rocket's force is impressive. Ed, however, states that destruction wasn't the goal. His goal was to be able to cruise the world in the fastest vehicle ever made, with a cute girl by his side (it's on his list of "things to do before I croak"). Enraged that she was broken out of prison just to be, as Ed put it, "an accessory", Shego begins to beat on him.

Meanwhile, Wade warns Kim that the Kepler is building in power, and that the kickback would level Middleton. Taking a gamble, Kim uses a pair of magnetic finger-rings (which she and Ron first thought were wedding rings!), clings onto the Kepler-boosted car, and manages to kill the power. As the car crashes, Shego and Motor Ed tumble into the river, with Shego still beating on the chauvinistic creep.

Back at home, Kim notes the car damage and asks the Tweebs for repairs. However, they surprise her when they release Kim from her contractual duty. As it turns out, the Tweebs have found a new "car monkey"... in the now-carless Bonnie (her car being destroyed after Kim grabbed onto Motor Ed's Kepler-boosted car).

During the credits, Bonnie is tired of being the Tweebs' "car monkey" and rips the contract. The Tweebs fight back by firing a grapple beam at her car, once again, leaving Bonnie carless.

Trivia

• Prior to this episode, Shaun Fleming provided the voices for Jim and Tim, but when this eipsode aired, the person providing their voice was Spencer Fox, who is best known for providing the voice of Dash in the Disney/Pixar movie The Incredibles.
• Although this episode aired a week after the Season 4 premier, chronologically it takes place between Ill Suited and Trading Faces.
• Just as Shego wears an 80's outfit in this episode, Kim ends up with an outlandish 80's hairstyle at one point.
• Kim's car is named the Roth SL Coupe (nicknamed the Sloth), now 2.0, which refers to the legendary car customizer Ed Roth.
• This the first episode to feature Motor Ed that doesn't show Felix.
• Continues the theme of Motor Ed loving getting hit by Shego's 'green magic'.
• Mr. Dr. Possible's current car (which was shown before, back in Attack of the Killer Bebes) resembles a Jaguar S-Type.
• In its original form, the Roth resembles a 1960s-era, low-priced, European coupe. The modified Roth 2.0 strongly resembles a Mazda Kabura and some features of a Audi RSQ.
