The first Worktruck was one of the very first PMC designs released in 2005.
It came in 1500 series regular cab with either a short or long bed, extended cab with short and long beds, and crew cab with short and long beds. 2500 models came in regular cab long bed, extended cab long bed, and crew cab long bed. The 3500 series came only in a dual-rear wheel crew cab long bed.
1500 models came in XL, XLT and WT (Worktruck) trim, but 2500 and 3500 were just 2500HD and 3500UHD (Ultra-Heavy Duty.)
1500 XL models came standard with the 4.6L V8, with the 5.4L V8 optional. 1500 XLT and WT, and 2500HD models came standard with the 5.4L and had the diesel optional, a rarity for 1500's. 3500UHD's came only with the diesel.
Transmission choices were limited: a 5-speed manual for the V8's, and a 6-speed manual for the diesel.
Standard drive was only the rear wheels, with an automatic 2WD/4WD shifting 4WD system.
The only safety feature besides front airbags was an Antilock Brake System, which was standard on all trim levels except XL, where it was optional.
Seating was basic bench seats in the front and rear, with front bucket seats optional.
Standard features were an AM/FM Stereo, power door locks, power windows (w/ driver and passenger express-down feature optional on 1500 XL and WT), tilt steering column, fog lights (optional on 1500 XL), power outlet, variable intermittent wipers, running boards (optional on 1500 XL), dual-zone air conditioning (tri-zone available in extended and crew cabs), and more.
Options included a trailer tow package, AM/FM Stereo with cassette player, sliding rear window, and rear window defroster.
The 2006 redesign of the Worktruck gave it rounded edges, a large new grille, new headlights, and new retractable mirrors on the 3500 models.
The technical data stayed the same from the previous Worktruck, but 2500 and 3500 models gained XL, XLT, and WT trims. ABS also became standard on the 1500 XL trim line.

The major 2007 redesign of the Worktruck was a major step for the truck. A new platform, along with a new extra-long crew cab, the BigCab, increased the truck's payload and passenger comfort. The new truck also sports body-side moldings and bigger bumpers.
1500
[edit]1500 models differ from heavy duty models mainly in the front fascia.
The old 4.6L & 5.4L V8's were upgraded to a DOHC with Variable Valve Timing and Cylinder Deactivation to improve fuel economy. The 4.6L was standard on XL and XLT trim; the 5.4L was standard on Sport and ZOX trim, and optional on XL and XLT.
Hybrid
[edit]2007 brought a new hybrid version of the Worktruck 1500. It was based on the XLT Extended Cab Short Bed. It featured 2 120-volt outlets in the cab, and four in the bed.
The engine coupled to the hybrid system was a new 4.0L Pushrod V8 with 290 hp and 300 lb. ft of torque.
RLX
[edit]In 2007 a new RLX version or the Worktruck debuted. I featured lowered suspension, bed cover with spoiler, new front bumper, special exhaust, skirting, and a 8.0L DOHC V10 with 515 hp and 400 lb. ft of torque (third largest PMC engine, the largest being a 10 liter DOHC Twin Turbo V12 in the Lemo)
2500 & 3500
[edit]These heavy duty models look more like their predecessor than the 1500 series does. The grille is changed slightly, and the headlights are enlarged.
Standard engines for the XL and XLT on both 2500 and 3500 models was the 5.4L DOHC Master V8, with the 5.6L Inline 6 Twin Turbo Diesel optional. A new 6.0L DOHC Master V8 was standard on 2500C (chassis cab) and 3500C (chassis cab), and optional on 3500 XL and XLT models. The 5.6L Diesel was standard on 2500 and 3500 WT (Worktruck) and 3500 SRW (single rear wheel).
4500 Mega Duty
[edit]The 4500 Mega Duty model is aimed at buyers who may be looking for a large pickup that can seat 5 or 6 comfortably, carry a lot of cargo, or tow a massively heavy trailer. Launched in mid-2007, the MD uses an all-new 6.6L Twin Turbo Diesel DOHC "Pulverizer" V8, which has an impressive 400 hp and 750 lb. ft. of torque. The MD uses the new-for-2007 BigCab, but unlike the other Worktrucks, it has a full-length bed, not a shortened version of the long bed. The MD also sports a strip of lights along the lower edge, along with dual massive exhaust pipes. The only options are a sliding rear window or defroster, and if they want leather instead of vinyl seats.
BigCab
[edit]The BigCab is basically an extended crew cab, adding several inches to the length of the cab, but detracting from the bed length. The rear seat is larger and reclines.

The Europo Motors L-5300 is essentially a 2005 PMC Worktruck, except for the fact that it is a dual-rear wheel regular cab chassis, a combination not available on the 2005 Worktruck.
