The School of Dentistry, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens offers a five year undergraduate program leading to a Bachelor in Dentistry (DDS). Additionally, it provides two cycles of Postgraduate Studies. The first cycle is two or three years in duration and leads to a Postgraduate Specialty Diploma. The second cycle is 3 years in duration and leads to a Doctorate Degree (PhD).The whole spectrum of dental services for patients of all ages is provided in the Clinics of the Dental School during the clinical training of the undergraduate and postgraduate students. The aim of the undergraduate curriculum is the provision of the necessary scientific knowledge and equipment for practicing general dentistry on behalf of all students after the completion of their course. Moreover main target of the course schedule constitutes the in depth comprehension of the student regarding the below mentioned substructures which consist the scientific basis for practicing the dental profession:

1) Biologically based type of practice, 2) Prevention based type of practice, 3) Social perceptive of the dentist , 4) Inclination for constant updating on medical methods and facts. In every specific medical course specific teaching targets and training subjects are set so that at the end of the course the student has acquired the scientific competence needed for practicing general dentistry. The whole spectrum of dental services for patients of all ages is provided in the Clinics of the Dental School during the clinical training of the undergraduate and postgraduate students.

Additionally, in the School of Dentistry laboratory and clinical research is realized in contemporary fields of dental sciences, from clinical and research faculty, postgraduate students and external collaborators.
