Article Evaluation

[edit]

"I visited the soccer article on Wikipedia, and found three aspects of it worth commenting on: structure, citations, and grammar."

Wikipedia cites that I chose based on my soccer hobby. I would like to know more info about the career of a soccer coach. So I ended up with Alex Ferguson page. He is the longest-serving manager of Manchester United. With his long term career, his wikipedia page is full with overload information in structure, citations and grammar.

Citations

[edit]

There are almost a full page of the citations in Alex Ferguson page. Looking through the list of the citations, mostly from the news report during the games and after the games, interviews, and news about signing contracts with soccer players. These citations are more reliable and trustworthy sources. I’ve noticed that most of the citations are from BBC Sport News. BBC Sport News is a truthful source for sports news, the news always updating daily sport-news.

Age

[edit]

Based on the citation, the article is up to date and which is September 30,2020.

Structure

[edit]

For Alex Ferguson page, it has the same outline structure compared with other wikipedia pages. For example, the first section introduces Alex in summary and more general information. The interesting part of Alex page was in the introduction part, it listed all the awards that he earned in his career term. In addition, the content of his page was very well organized starting from early life to career statistics.

Grammar

[edit]

Alex Ferguson is an famous soccer player and coach with a long-term career life which made his page as a professional page. Reading through the page, I wasn't able to find an error. Since this page is about sport which the language uses in this page Soccer language which might be confusing for readers who are not in sport.

Summary

[edit]

Overall, this page is a perfect example for a professional page because of the citations, organized structure and no grammatical errors.References
