Christos Ioannidis (ελληνικά: Χρήστος Ιωαννίδης, born January 24 1995), known professionally as Light, Yung Light and Nerogreco, is a Greek rapper and businessman of African descent. He is a principal member and the owner of record label Capital Music.

He is one of the most popular Greek rappers and a pioneer in Greece's mumble rap, gangsta rap and trap music.

Early life and career

Christos Ioannidis was born on 24 January 1995 in Thesalloniki. After his parents divorced, the young Christos was raised by his mother and was educated on African culture by his mother. Due to his African descent, he has used the alias Nerogreco, which means "the black Greek". He was discovered by Capital founder and former member Ypochthonios in 2012 and he subsequently released his debut EP, Nero Greco featuring socially conscious themes.

Career

Ioannidis soon collaborated with the leading rapper Snik on the gangsta rap songs Tony Montana and Gucci Mane. He went on to release the multi-platinum Poios Eimai, which remains one of his most popular songs with more than 24 million views on YouTube.

On 2017, he released his debut studio album, Primo, which focuses on autobiographical themes. It contains the popular songs Peta Ta, Primo, Cinco de Mayo, Stan, Xannie, Christos and Free Mike. He went on to release chart-topping singles: Mosca, Ola Ta Chains and the O. J. Simpson-inspired OJ. He was also fearured in Stars, the second and final single from Toquel's critically acclaimed 777 album.

Apart from owning Capital Music, he also owns PrimoTheBrand, a clothing brand.

In 2020, Light collaborated with the rapper Hawk on the chart-topping single Voodoo and subsequently on the album Supernova.

On 2021, he released the album Immortale, which includes the acclaimed song Ti Fovasai. The song and the subsequently released music video shows the rapper being shot and killed by rival gangs and how his friends, associates and family handle the situation.
