Honolulu, Hawaii: DJ Halcro, Director of Business Development with Yankee Group Investments recently was re-appointed by the United States Secretary of Commerce to the [Hawaii-Pacific District Export Council]. He is often recruited to provide his professional experience and advice that complements the counseling and assistance provided by US Department of Commerce Trade Specialists.

Halcro was the Director of Business Development for a Hawaii based Cruise Company for Asia - Pacific.

Halcro concentrates on structuring international business transactions and advising clients seeking to do business in China, and Asia. He has counseled numerous businesses mainly in the hospitality industry regarding transactions in Asia and the Pacific Rim.

Halcro has been involved in Asia since 1970. His main focus has been with Vietnam, Japan, Taiwan, Korea, PRC, Philippines, and Micronesia. He has worked with the Foreign Commercial Service Offices beginning in Seoul, Korea in 1985. Halcro and a number of Hospitality Industry Leaders from Hawaii went to Korea to assist in developing the outbound travel business to Hawaii. He was fortunate to have met the Commercial Officer in Seoul, Mr. William Yarmy, who assisted Hawaii in securing a substantial number of visitors to Hawaii during the next 12 years. Through the efforts of Mr. Yarmy and the Commercial Officer in Hawaii, Mr. George Dolan, Hawaii saw an increase to 157,000 visitors annually by 1996 many with 5 year multiple entry visas which the FCS Officer was instrumental in securing.

Halcro is a counselor with [SCORE], Hawaii Chapter 159, he was the Chairman for the Hawaii Chapter from 2003-2006. SCORE, "Counselors to America's Small Business." It is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides free business counseling services to entrepreneurs in the United States. The organization also presents business workshops and seminars for a fee. Business counseling services are provided by both active and retired volunteers who donate their time and expertise as mentors to new and established entrepreneurs. SCORE is a resource partner with the U.S. Small Business Administration.

Halcro is a member of [Skål] a professional organization of tourism leaders around the world, promoting global tourism and friendship. It is the only international group uniting all branches of the travel and tourism industry. Its members, the industry's leaders and executives, meet at local, national, regional and international levels to discuss and pursue topics of common interest.
