Womyn-born womyn is an article about a type of feminism consistent with the second wave and TERF feminism, meaning trans-excluding feminism. It is also the definition for many events and festivals held in the name of a safe, women only space, and therefore has a conflicting history that still persists today in some circles. It’s history and its impact on feminism and the transgender community are things to consider and expand upon here, in an article that is quite short and not very expanded upon.

This article is very short for one concerning such a large topic. Contemporary history is comprised of many things, from human trafficking to the commission of child soldiers, and as such, it deserves to be expanded upon in a way that sheds light on the history of the topic as well as ways different places are addressing it.

This article is similarly small for the large, broad topic. The gender binary has a large history, and its existence has influenced much of life today. More-so, separation from the gender binary and therefore the acknowledgment of it has influenced society, and modern history and breaking from the gender binary provides an interesting narrative for a large history section, as well as variations seen in modern society.

About Me

I am a current undergraduate student at Rice University, majoring in Political Science and minoring in Poverty, Justice, and Human Capabilities and Environmental Studies. I am very interested in the realm of LGBTQ+ rights and visibility, as well as gender equality, racial equality, environmental issues, reproductive rights, and immigration. Regionally, I tend to focus on the Middle East as well as more Western countries such as the United States and those in Europe. I have previously edited the LGBT retirement issues in the United States article.

As part of my Poverty, Justice, and Human Capabilities course, Human Development, I am furthering my Wikipedia editing career in related topics. I am excited to add the base of knowledge on this immense website and engage with the community at large.
