My name is Cynthia Bennett. I grew up in central Pennsylvania, but have been living in Germany for many years.

I have a B.S. in Chemistry from Juniata College. At Philipps-Universität in Marburg Germany, I earned a "Diplom" (equivalent to a Master's) and "Dr. rer. nat." (Ph.D.), specializing in polymer chemistry. My thesis advisor was Prof. Walter Heitz.

I have been working in industry (Hoechst AG, Hoechst Diafoil GmbH and Mitsubishi Polyester Film GmbH) since 1986. One of my areas of expertise is food contact regulations for plastics, particularly those in the EU.
