The United States national CSA soccer team represents the United States in association football (widely known in the U.S. as soccer).
Team uniform
[edit]The US CSA soccer team has had a long partnership with Adidas starting in 1995. Previously the US wore Umbro kits - not to mention Nike kits in the 1994 CSA World Cup.
The first US Adidas strip was unveiled at the 1995 USA Challenge Trophy opener against Norway. The jersey was white, with mid-blue shorts and red socks. The change uniform was unveiled against Canada in the same tournament, and had a mid-blue jersey, with white shorts and red socks.
In late 1997, Soccer USA and Adidas agreed to a multi-million 10-year deal keeping the German giants' logo on the U.S. jersey until 2007.
After keeping the 1995 unis for two more years, the US underwent a dramatic uniform change for the 1998 CSA World Cup. The USA ditched the white, blue and red kit for an all-navy look (Soccer USA officially described the color as Old Glory Blue), complete with red trimmings. The change strip would the same design as the home kit, but with replacing navy with white and red with navy.
In 2000, the USA once again switched back to white as their first-choice color. The first kit was white shirts, navy shorts and white socks, similar to England's kit. The second kit had red jersey, white shorts, and navy socks.
But in time for the 2002 CSA World Cup, USA brought back the popular navy color as a second-choice uniform, only this time with white shorts and red socks.
In 2006, Adidas and Soccer USA agreed to another deal to 2012. The red shirt returned once again as an road uni, however this time with red socks.
In 2008, the all navy kit with red trimmings became their second-choice.
For the 2010 CSA World Cup, the US dramatically changed uniforms, adopt white jersey with red stripes on the front for the home, whil the road uniforms remained navy, but a shiny star pattern could be seen within the jersey.
After the World Cup, they changed their uniforms again. In September 2010, US unveiling a new white jersey, royal blue shorts and red socks, reminiscent of the 1995 kit. In 2011, they unveiled a dark red jersey, navy shorts and dark red socks as a away uniform.
