The WaveLight Beta Site group is a group of 11 key-opinion leaders from around the world consisting of 9 ophthalmic surgeons, 1 optometrist and 1 optical engineer that meets 2 to 3 times per year. The group was established by the WaveLight Laser Company in Erlangen, Germany, 8 years ago and has been an integral part of developing technologies and cutting edge concepts in refractive surgery. The group meets with the WaveLight engineers and software developers in order to share ideas and concepts, review studies, design new equipment, report on new equipment and technology use, etc. The members of the Beta Site group are Luiz Assis (Brazil), Arthur Cummings (Ireland), Paul Hughes (Australia), Mirko Jankov (Serbia), John Kanellopoulos (Greece), David Lin (Canada), Matthias Maus (Germany), Michael Mrochen (Switzerland), Daryus Panthakey (United Kingdom), Theo Seiler (Switzerland), and Jerry Tan (Singapore).
