Reception

[edit]

TheGamer writer Jade King praised her, saying that she was the platforming character she wanted as a child. She felt that "female characters that matter" were a relatively new thing, discussing how "genuine depth" was deprioritized in older female characters in favor of titillation or just put in the background altogether. While she was not a fan of the fact that Rivet was based on Ratchet, she nonetheless appreciated seeing a female platforming character in a genre she felt was dominated by men.[1] NME writer Oisin Kuhnke felt Rivet was a "wholly fleshed out" character, praising her character arc of learning to connect with others as one of the best parts of Rift Apart.[2]
