Extra Credit - Week 2 - Article Evaluation
[edit]Article source: Chinese luxury shopping behaviour
Is everything in the article relevant to the article topic? Is there anything that distracted you?
- In general, the article is relevant to the topic. However, the article only describes "middle-class consumer" behavior in detail which is not comprehensive enough, even though the middle-class people are the main consumers of the luxury markets.
Is any information out of date? Is anything missing that could be added?
- The author used articles mainly from the year 2009-2012. These might be kind of outdated. There could be more famous luxury brands added in the final part.
What else could be improved?
- It needs to be more updated and detailed. For "The most famous luxury brand categories according to Chinese consumers" part, the popularity of the brands has been changing in recent years. Consumer behavior has also been changing these years.
Is the article neutral? Are there any claims that appear heavily biased toward a particular position?
- It is neutral.
Is each fact referenced with an appropriate, reliable reference? Where does the information come from? Are these neutral sources? If biased, is that bias noted?
-The references are done correctly and reliable. Most are obtained from journals and books which are neutral sources.
