Nathan Jonas Jordison (born April 26, 1975 in Des Moines, Iowa), sometimes known by his stage name Joey Jordison or his number #1, is an American musician, songwriter, and record producer. He grew up outside of Waukee, Iowa with his parents and two sisters. At the age of eight, Jordison recieved his first drum kit as a gift from his parents. Still in his childhood, Jordison's parents divorced, leaving him and his two sisters to live with their mother. During high school, Jordison's grades dropped due to his interest in music. He performed inseveral bands until joining The Pale Ones in summer of 1995, a band which would evolve into the nu metal band Slipknot.
With Slipknot, Jordison has performed on four studio albums, and produced the album 9.0: Live. He is also involved in the horror punk band Murderdolls, which he helped establish while on tour with Slipknot. Originally named The Rejects, he has performed in both of their albums. Aside his major projects, Jordison has performed with bands like Rob Zombie, Metallica, and Ministry. While most of his performances were on tour, some albums like House of Secrets and the reissue of Hellbilly Deluxe 2 feature studio recorded tracks which have him performing. Jordison uses several drum brands including Pearl and ddrum.
