User:Crouch, Swale/Motions
Appearance
Proposed 2023 motions for ARCA. All start with something like "Crouch, Swale's editing restrictions, previously modified in 2022, are modified as follows".
Article creation
[edit]None of these would change the existing 1 article a month on any topic meaning I can still create the 1 article a month in addition to any specific topics. All would also include similar to the 1 article a month that I am allowed to move drafts as part of any creation limit for the page move restriction assuming it also isn't removed.
- "He may create 14 new articles a week on current civil parishes in England in accordance with the rules at the RFC in 2020 namely parishes with the same name as a settlement don't have separate articles unless the parish excludes the settlement. If any are deemed unsuitable they may be moved to draftspace per WP:ATD-I and Crouch, Swale may not move them back to mainspace/request this at RMT as a revert of an undiscussed move without agreement from the mover. This allowance may be reduced or removed by any admin, even if involved."
- Reason, allows the creation of all missing (current) civil parishes in England in around 6 months. This would be slow enough that I could create good quality articles and would allow any problems/suggested improvements to come out. It also relaxes the restriction on a topic which has presumed notability while keeping it tighter for other topics. This is in accordance with the consensus at the parishes RFC about them being created with a reasonable amount of content.
- "He may create 7 new articles a week on current civil parishes in England in accordance with the rules at the RFC in 2020 namely parishes with the same name as a settlement don't have separate articles unless the parish excludes the settlement. If any are deemed unsuitable they may be moved to draftspace per WP:ATD-I and Crouch, Swale may not move them back to mainspace/request this at RMT as a revert of an undiscussed move without agreement from the mover. This allowance may be reduced or removed by any admin, even if involved."
- Reason, allows all current parishes to be created in around a year for those that feel 14 articles a week is too much.
- "He may create 1 new article a week on current civil parishes in England in accordance with the rules at the RFC in 2020 namely parishes with the same name as a settlement don't have separate articles unless the parish excludes the settlement."
- Reason, allows 1 article a week for those that still feel 7 articles a day is too much. Probably the ATD-I and allowance reduction is not likely to be needed with just 1 article a week.
- Reason, allows all current parishes to be created in around a year for those that feel 14 articles a week is too much.
- "He may create 1 new article a month on current civil parishes in England in accordance with the rules at the RFC in 2020 namely parishes with the same name as a settlement don't have separate articles unless the parish excludes the settlement."
- Reason, allows 1 article a month on a parish if 1 a week is still too much.
- "His existing page creation restrictions are removed, he is reminded that creating unsuitable content may result in them being reinstated."
- Reason, removes all creation as a test to see if I can be trusted. I believe I can in 2022 be trusted even if I couldn't in 2011. My own inclusion criteria as well as quality of creation is higher than years ago even if expectations/rules have got stricter since then.
Redirect and DAB creation
[edit]- "He may create new mainspace redirects, he is reminded if he creates unsuitable redirects this ban can be reinstated".
- Reason, this would help as some of the missing parish titles simply need redirects and although in 2010 I created implausible redirects my views have changed significantly since then per WP:COSTLY.
- "He may create new mainspace DAB pages, he is reminded if he creates unsuitable DAB pages this can be reinstated. This also allows the creation of WP:INTDABLINK redirect to DAB pages namely "X (disambiguation)" redirect to DAB page "X".
- Reason, allows me to create new DAB pages which may be needed, often as a result of an article creation or RM discussion. The INTDABLINK redirects also allow me to fix DAB links with DisamAssist as it creates such redirects if they don't exist and thus would violate my restrictions.
Page moves
[edit]- "He may move pages in any namespace, he is reminded that preforming inappropriate moves may result in the restriction being reinstated. He may also create DAB pages and INTDABLINK redirects."
- Reason, allows page moves given almost all of my RMT requests have been accepted. Could also include a 1RR or 0RR if needed. 1RR seems sensible.
- "He may move pages (and create DAB pages and INTDABLINK redirects for them) as a result of consensus in accordance with WP:RMCI.
- Reason, allows me to move pages for the purpose of closing RM discussions which would help with the backlog there.
- "He may move pages as part of new page review.
- Reason, allows page moves that are needed for new page review.
Appeals and reviews
[edit]- "He may request relaxation of his restrictions as standard at WP:ARCA.
- Reason, removes the longer wait, less useful if the 7 parishes a week is implemented than the 14 a week as the former will take around a year while the latter 6 months.
- "He may create 2 new articles a week on current civil parishes in England in accordance with the rules at the RFC in 2020 namely parishes with the same name as a settlement don't have separate articles unless the parish excludes the settlement. If any are deemed unsuitable they may be moved to draftspace per WP:ATD-I and Crouch, Swale may not move them back to mainspace/request this at RMT as a revert of an undiscussed move without agreement from the mover." The number of parish articles he can create a week can (but is not required) to be reviewed by any admin (even involved) every 2 weeks to see if it can be increased, it may be decreased any time he creates unsuitable articles.
- Reason, allows a flexible number of parish articles to be created and it to be increased/decreased based on if there are problems or not. Could also be applied to any articles creation or other certain topics like BUAs. The initial number or the frequency of the review could also be altered. This allows more reviews based on performance than the very long year or 6 months wait to use ARCA but this would not affect my ability to appeal at ARCA every 6 months or year.
