From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Waters of Time is a Port of London Authority sponsored documentary that was filmed in 1951.

Produced for the Festival of Britain[1], it was both narrated and, in part, written by Paul Dehn. The documentary examines unloading and departure of a ship from the Port of London in 1951. It examines all the life of the docklands and the river.

It ran for 37 minutes and featured the voices of Felix Felton, James McKechnie and John Slater.

Basil Wright [2] made this alongside another documentary about the Thames and life about the famous London river. In the early 1950s, British society was examining much of its remaining assets and this documentary was part of that self-examination.
