This looks like and it is a personal page. I'm sorry I still need to filter / make it short and simple. Clean it up.
I know we shouldn't write personal stuff in wikipedia, but I believe this is a relevant content to wikipedia just as much as any wikipedian is. Getting to know the writer is getting to know what one is writing about. The context is more important than the words. As we learn almost by accident in english... Due to the lack of words and specific names we need context to fix ambiguity.
Ideas / Suggestions for Wikipedia
[edit]I still need to find the right place to post those, so I'll organize myself by adding them on to here.
- "Google Filter" on user's contrib, to be able to search better
Idea: Google + Wikimedia
[edit]I really wanted to see google joining forces with wikimedia, and vice-versa, in general (hoping). :P
Yeah, google is not opensource, it's just freeware. But it uses the good power of marketing and spam to exist through money.
And wikipedia is the most opensource as our language can be. But it depends on luck from donations to exist through money.
I know this is hard to happened due to the different nature of both, but it would be great!

Idea: Language Translation
[edit]Wikipedia has a huge language barrier right now. While it is being constructed in several different languages, each Wikimedia language has a different version, is basically a completely different version but some of them try to copy the English version, and vice-versa.
My point is, WikiMedia should have two different ways to deal with different languages: 1. Translation. This should do like google does. It would even be good, again, to integrate Google into doing this. Get any article, write it in English, and someone or some tool would translate it from English to any other language. 2. Language Version. This is what exists today. A different version in each language for each subject / article. They are different versions, point of views, of the same object of study. They are not a translation, most likely far from it. It is even called "in other languages". Maybe it's just me, but I always had the impression it was a translation attempt and those were the same thing.
So basically, I'm missing translations. I myself know how to use Google to translate the pages. But wiki is meant to be simple and easy, and that's something that's missing. Also, Google will have translation mistakes that wiki-googled pages could fix.
I bet this is not a new idea, but I just want to register it in here until I find the proper place to discuss it.

[edit]- Wikipedia:Redirect doesn't redirect properly when the link inside has a "topic-link" like this: #bugs. I've noticed that while trying to create a new article: Google search technology
A word about our Human Languages
[edit]I believe this is really relevant to wikipedia, since it's basically a "language explanation database". So this is my point of view of wikipedia, thus letting people know why I write / contribute to it the way I do it. And I also hope this can explains why I make so many mistakes, and I will keep coming with more errors as long as I'm alive. :P
Things that I like
[edit]- Always keep in mind that by thinking through language I feel I'm using just a small part of my brain.
- Try to keep myself as far from word definitions as possible, since each person has its own definition for words and trying to create a standard for every word is trying to make languages even more complex. Specially when you realize creating words seem to never be enough.
- To think that our language is a bad approach to use our brain to interact with each other.
- To exercise my brain and body. Do sports, play games. To think in as many things as possible. To play as many different things as possible. To meet as many people as possible. To observe as much as possible.
- Using everything in lowercase. It is just a very nice way to prevent ambiguous information (most of the times). It is also used on internet. And I really like it.
Things that I believe of
[edit]- A language is not, by any means, the best way that links, communication can be expressed. I believe anyone can think of several examples in nature that do that in a much better way and also in another bunch of examples that do it in a worst way. But it's still the best way that I've acknowledge and that I'm able to use for communicating myself with other people so far.
- Telepathy is probably not physically real, for thousands of logical reasons that I can't explain in a little amount of time / space. But I believe I can logically explain, binary proof, it does exist. I'm just not sure if it does exist in our universe.
- The more I get to know about a specific subject the more I used precious life time to not know about generic subjects.
- Life doesn't exist without the mutual existence of good and bad things.
- In God and in even more than that. Maybe this is infinite in a cyclical way. (note to myself: transfinitos)
- There is intelligence everywhere. Intelligence depends on communication. The bigger the object is the more intelligent it is and the smaller communications are among the same kind of objects.
- Yes, that implies that I believe Planet Earth is a huge intelligent life being. Gaya.
- Yes, that implies that a single ant is not as intelligent, but as one of the most numerous life forms in Earth they could be even more intelligent than humans. That depends on how good their communcation is.
- Yes, that also implies that our brain is a intelligent object and it can communicate almost perfectly with the rest of our body through neuroniuns. But I believe the human society is almost as dumb as rocks trying to talk. At least until Computer Era...
- Cybernetics and biological revolution anywhere in the near future.
What am I trying to say
[edit]Hence I don't like our language the way it goes into myself, I just try to keep it as simple as possible. At the same time I try to learn more and more, but this can prove dangerous to myself in any near future. I'm starting to believe that the elderly people usually get "corrupted" brain through doing it by mistake.
about me
[edit]If you came in here to get to know me better, I believe the better way is through links.
But I'll eventually write a brief introduction of myself as of how I see myself at the time I wrote it.
forever learning
[edit]From Plato. The more I learn the more I believe I'll never be able to learn "everything".
But, as I'm still young, I still wish I could! :P
So, I'll keep trying, specially to learn about myself.
Here are questions about me I can think of:
- Am I en-3 and/or "br-3" as in: "Do I have advanced knowledge of English and/or Brazilian Portuguese"?
0 and 1
[edit]As a mathematics and logic lover, following there are some information about my point of view. This might seem religious for some people. And it kinda is. It is, also, my religious point of view. ps: I'd like this better in a "wiki table" (I'd know only how to make it in HTML).

[edit]More than ever, I want to do all the small things that I enjoy doing in life. And not in a mere phisical sense of the word. Mental. Mind. That's what I've always done. That's my biggest luck in life. I believe I've always done what I like to do, and I'll keep trying to do that, as far as that doesn't hurt people near me. I love doing what I like about as much as I hate hurting people.
And, as my first music CD used to say, from Bobby McFerrin: "Don't worry, be happy!" :)

[edit]Currently, I'm working with h-sphere, which seems to be a good and complicated solution for ISP management. Also there are two e-mail servers we use in the company and I'm working on: the good old Merak Mail Server and the other one that I dislike, Vircom Modus Mail.
It has been quite an experience to me. --2005-10-21 Cawas
