Paul Taylor is a mutli instumentalist, singer/songwriter, music producer and lead singer/guitarist for Sydney based band Rockets. He has also produced a solo album under the stage name Taylor Jay as well as working with indie/folk duo Gerogia Fair, playing Bass for a number of their live shows.
Rockets
[edit]Paul formed the band along with fellow local musicians David Stevens, Hewett Cook and Tom 'The Crust' Croston in late 2008. Their early EP countdown to impressions was not commercially successful, however, it was well received by critics and earnt them a strong following throughout the notoriously fickle Sydney music scene.
The Band has been influenced by such popular artists as Kings of Leon, The Strokes and Hot Chip.
Rockets are currently preparing to release there second E.P. The first single off the E.P "Toad" is available to purchase from iTunes. The band is also currently being featured in Triple J's "Unearthed" competition. Current single "Toad" has received airplay on radio stations such as Triple J and Sydney's FBI Radio.
Taylor Jay
[edit]In August 2009 Paul released his first solo album under the moniker "Taylor Jay". The album showed a more electronic and experimental edge to Paul's songwriting.
