Article Evaluation

[edit]

I've been interested in Allstar Cheerleading for years now, and I had done Allstar Cheerleading for five years of my life and during that time I found one of my favorite gyms that I have looked up to, the Cheer Extreme gym. I think Cheerleaders or anyone interested in this topic should know their accomplishments and history of this gym, so I decided to visit the Cheer Extreme Allstars page on Wikipedia and found three aspects of it worth commenting on: its structure, its lack of citations, and the article not being up to date.

Structure

[edit]

The article gives some small detailed facts and a link that doesn't give us much detail about how this gym got started and about the family that founded it. With that said, if you're into this topic, I believe that knowing about the history of the cheer gym by how it was founded and how much it's grown, is pretty interesting. Having headings on a page is important for the look of the page but also to display the main points.

Citations

[edit]

The article gives us citations, but not reliable ones. I noticed there was a dead link so I wasn't able to view or fully understand what the page was trying to show me because the citations weren't correct and were unavailable to see which could potentially be a problem for other readers. Furthermore, the citations in the page are around five to six years old which isn't a bad thing, but the publisher could update these citations to current ones to make it more reliable and easier to understand.

Article not up to date

[edit]

I've noticed throughout the page that a couple links are not updated as well as towards the bottom of the page, it shows it was updated February of 2020. In the second subheading on the page named "Publicity", the publisher mentioned there was going to be a documentary of the cheer gym and the link provided in the article quoted "dead link" which doesn't provide accurate information which makes it seem like the publisher had just come up with it.

Summary

[edit]

Overall, I would rate this page as "okay". The structure of the page had little headings so it was hard to tell what I was going to be reading about next. Though the page had available links, they could be updated to make the points more reliable for the reader and give more background on the topic. Furthermore, having an up to date page will hook the reader more, but will also have the page more reliable with current facts and will provide a better sense of the accomplishments this cheer team has progressed in the last years.

Bio

About Me

[edit]

I was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest and have been adventurous my whole life due to the amazing outdoors the PNW brings. My hobbies would include painting, trying new restaurants, as well as hiking because there is so much to see and explore in the PNW. Hiking has many benefits to your physical and mental health by keeping you calm and happy.[1]

My Wikipedia Interests

[edit]

If I'm active on Wikipedia in the future, I think my main research or topics l would like to write about, would be about climate change and how it's effecting our planet because not only do I find that topic interesting, I also think more people should look into it because it all begins with us and is one of the biggest problems we have on this earth.
