Crazymantis91 is an infrequent editor on Wikipedia. He has been a member of the site since 2014, but has not devoted enough activity until 2017. He has been reading the site since he was very young. He mostly likes to check for grammatical errors, but he will contribute to the overall improvement of an article in a subject that he has some interest in. He does not profess to have any expertise in anything, but since his interests are wide, he has a firm grasp of most concepts. He has a good body of source material at home, and his ever-growing library serves as a testament to this.
About Me (I mean him)
[edit]Where he lives
[edit]Crazymantis91 was born in Carmichael, California. He has been living in the Sacramento area for all of his life. He currently lives in Elk Grove. He does not intend to live anywhere else other than northern California, though he would love to travel extensively. His dream is to go on a Grand Tour of the European continent: as far northwest as Iceland, as far southwest as Iberia, as far northeast as Russia and as far southeast as Jerusalem. He would also love to visit parts of East Asia, such as Japan and Hong Kong, among a few other areas of the globe.
What he likes
[edit]He rarely turns his nose up at anything, but still approaches these things with caution. His hobbies include reading, writing, playing video games, watching movies, insect collecting, listening to classical music and hanging out with friends, among other things.
Reading
[edit]He will literally read anything he can get his hands on, but there are some notable exceptions. Genres of fiction that he likes to read from include fantasy, science fiction, horror, historical fiction, dystopian and a few others. Subgenres such as magic realism, steampunk and biographical fiction are also of interest. He even reads comics, graphic novels and manga on occasion. Non-fiction works dealing with politics, history, geography, sociology, religion, philosophy, art, science, psychology and medicine are also sought after by him. He also appreciates reference works, especially dictionaries and encyclopedias. This user generally avoids magazines, though he makes a very notable exception to this. This user does not enjoy tabloid magazines. This user is a voracious book collector as well, and he may in fact be a bibliophile. His collection of books has eclipsed 1200, and he has about 400 magazines. He has only read about half of the books that he owns, but most of what he has read are books outside of his own library.
Writing
[edit]Since he is an aspiring writer, this user is often seen writing things. He has not published anything as of yet, but is currently working on two children’s books. He suffers from two very debilitating and contagious diseases among almost all writers: procrastination and writer's block. He plans to write novels and short stories in the future, and perhaps some non-fiction works if he feels up to the task.
Video Games
[edit]He likes to play video games from multiple developers and on multiple platforms, and is generally not too selective with the genre that he plays. He is especially fond of games from Nintendo, Bethesda, Valve, Sony and a few other developers, and genres that he is especially fond of include platform games, adventure games, single player FPSs, certain RPGs, and a few fighting games. He is not particularly fond of interactive movies, multiplayer FPSs (occasionally), MMORPGs, sport games or party games. There are, however, exceptions to all of this. Some of his favorite games of all time include Super Mario Bros, The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Metroid Prime, Pokémon Crystal, Skyrim, Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance, Pikmin 2, Half-Life 2, Portal, Halo 3, Bioshock, Bioshock Infinite, Resident Evil 4, Stardew Valley, and a few others.
Watching Movies
[edit]He enjoys watching movies both at home and at the theater, but always believes that the best movie experiences happen on a bigger screen. He will only see a movie if it is a good movie. The way he can tell if the movie is good or not is by reading reviews and asking friends for their opinions. He then takes what they have to say into consideration when making the decision to either see the movie or pass on it. His favorite movie is The Empire Strikes Back.
Insect Collecting
[edit]Though he has not done this in a while, he is an avid insect collector. He has even entered a number of collections into the Youth Exhibits at the California State Fair. He won first place in all but one year that he has entered his exhibit; a few times, he even won best of class and show, respectively. Entomology was going to be his major in college, but he soon realized that it was more of a strong hobby rather than something he wanted to do in a professional setting, and so he changed majors. However, his love for insects should not be underestimated.
Classical Music
[edit]Around 95% of the music that this user listens to is classical music. He is especially fond of music from the Baroque, Classical, and Romantic eras, though he does enjoy many pieces from the early 20th Century. Composers that he generally likes a lot include Beethoven, Mozart, Bach, Vivaldi, Tchaikovsky, Mendelssohn, Brahms, Schumann, Verdi, Handel, Chopin and Schubert, though he likes listening to many more. He is generally not fond of minimalist classical music, though he appreciates some of it. He does not like music of the Second Viennese School, such as that of Schoenberg. He detests John Cage’s music, but acknowledges his influence in the field. The other 5% generally includes jazz, R&B, soul and some rock. He will usually avoid listening to hip-hop, pop, country, reggae, electronic and heavy metal music, though he respects other people in their love for any kind of music. He is cautious of experimental genres. He also has no personal opinion on folk music or the blues, but mainly because he is not that familiar with them.
