Theo Olive ...
Theo Olive was a painter and printmaker born in 1914 in London.
He studied at Wimbledon Art School from 1933-1935 followed by study at The Royal College of Art from 1935-1939. ln 1946 he started teaching in Bath Art Secondary School and at Bath College of Art at Corsham Court. He became an Associate of the Royal West of England Academy of Art in 1947 and an Acadamician in 1966. In 1956 he was appointed Head of Art at the West Riding of Yorkshire Music ,Art and Drama Teacher Training College at Bretton Hall near Wakefield. In 1975 he retired to Shipton- on Cherwell near Oxford and started to concentrate on etching. He was a member of the Oxford Art Society and chairman from1982-1986. He became an Associate Member of the Royal Society of Painter Printmakers in1987 and a Fellow in 1991. He died in Oxford in 1998.
